Position Summary:
The Marketplace Reconciliation Lead works within the Marketplace Operations Group, leading sustainable vendor data reconciliation efforts in Pax8’s Marketplace. As the senior member of the new Marketplace Reconciliation Team, they play a central role in evaluating, prioritizing, and implementing solutions to remediate financial and subscription discrepancies with Pax8’s vendors. The Lead collaborates closely with our corporate Finance team, working to coordinate and engage global internal stakeholders to support business growth and ensure the integrity of our financial statements. They have a strong analytical mindset, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience in finance and/or accounting.
Essential Responsibilities:
Support and engage with the vendor data reconciliation process, ensuring transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are resolved.
Establish robust data reconciliation controls and procedures to mitigate financial risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Proactively seeking opportunities to enhance data reconciliation processes, automate repetitive tasks, and improve efficiency through technology and best practices.
Analyze reconciliation data to generate actionable insights and prepare comprehensive reports for management review and decision-making.
Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to data reconciliation accuracy, cycle time, and resolution of outstanding items to drive operational excellence.
Act as the lead for identifying, evaluating, and prioritizing operational fixes for identified discrepancies with vendors.
Work closely with our corporate Finance team to aggregate and analyze data, mobilizing internal stakeholders.
Support internal and external data reconciliation efforts by providing necessary documentation and data.
Collaborate with global internal stakeholders, including Finance, Sales, and Vendor teams, to foster continued business maturity, financial accuracy, and enable recovery of potential lost revenue.
Develop and implement sustainable data reconciliation practices to maintain the integrity of financial statements.
Contribute to projects focused on developing long-term, product-based data reconciliation solutions.
Ideal Skills, Experience, and Competencies:
At least five (5) years of experience working with complex data sets and analysis.
Exposure to Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering practices.
Ideally, prior experience in a marketplace environment (e.g., e-commerce, digital platforms) is beneficial. Understanding transactional flows, revenue recognition, and seller/buyer dynamics adds value.
Ability to work with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to extract and analyze data. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet software is essential for data manipulation and analysis.
Familiarity with Data Visualization Tools (e.g., PowerBI)
Ability to manage multiple reconciliation projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation to identify discrepancies and trends. Experience with data reconciliation tools and techniques is beneficial.
Effective communication, both written and verbal, is crucial for explaining financial discrepancies, collaborating with stakeholders, and presenting reconciliation results to leadership.
Exceptional analytical, strategic, planning, organization, and time management skills to effectively execute project plans.
Possesses strong business acumen with the ability to think from an overall “best for the business” perspective.
Ability to demonstrates initiative and be results oriented.
Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple functional areas.
Ability to adapt approach and demeanor in real time to match the shifting demands of different situations.
Ability to take a broad view when approaching issues using a global lens.
Ability to be self-motivated and independent.
Required Education & Certifications:
B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent work experience
Compensation:
Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $83,000 or more depending on experience
