About the role
We're looking for a strategic and creative Marketing Designer to join the Goodnotes Creative Studio. This is a full-time contractor role based in APAC, with the flexibility to work remotely, from one of our regional offices, or in a hybrid setup.
You'll report directly to the Global Brand Design Lead (based in London) and join a Creative Studio of four — making you the fifth member of the team. The rest of the studio is based across Europe and Hong Kong. The primary focus of this role is our website: you'll own the visual design of our web presence, thinking carefully about how pages look, feel, and communicate the Goodnotes brand. Where capacity allows, you'll also support the wider Creative Studio with overflow work across a range of marketing design needs.
This role is based in APAC with remote, office, or hybrid flexibility
This is the role for you if you're excited to work on:
Website design ownership Own the visual design of the Goodnotes website, ensuring it is always on-brand, polished, and purposeful.
Content collaboration Work closely with our Content Designer to bring web pages to life in a cohesive and compelling way.
Creative Studio support Chip in with overflow support for the Creative Studio when capacity allows — this might include paid social and digital ad creatives, email and CRM design, event and campaign materials, or brand asset production.
AI-powered creative workflows Experiment with AI tools and new ways of working to help build a more efficient, forward-thinking creative team.
Brand stewardship Maintain a strong grasp of the Goodnotes brand and apply it consistently across a wide range of formats and channels.
The skills you will need to be successful:
At least 5–7 years of experience in digital design, with a strong emphasis on website and marketing design.
A strong portfolio showcasing digital marketing design work, with website design featured prominently.
Deep understanding of design best practices across web and marketing channels.
Required software skills: Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (especially Photoshop and Illustrator), and Canva. Experience with After Effects or other motion tools for basic animations is a plus.
Experience working in a product-led or tech company — ideally in consumer, education, or productivity sectors — and collaborating within or alongside a creative studio or in-house design team.
Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working at pace in an iterative environment. Written and spoken English proficiency is essential.
A genuine curiosity about AI tools and how they can improve creative workflows.
Interview process
Role-Specific Assessment: A take-home design task to get a feel for your creative thinking and execution.
Hiring Manager Interview: A deeper dive into your professional background, your preferred ways of working, and the specific impact you'll have within the team — with the Brand Design Lead.
Values Based Panel Interview: A conversation with 2–3 team members centered on our company values. We'll discuss past experiences to see how your approach aligns with our culture.
AI Literacy: As an AI-first company, we'll meet with one of our AI champions to discuss your curiosity, understanding, and practical use of AI tools in your daily workflow.
At Goodnotes, we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences, and we make hiring decisions based on merit, qualifications, and the needs of the role.
We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, neurodiversity, marital or parental status, or any other protected characteristic. If you require any adjustments during the recruitment process, please let your Talent partner know — we're happy to accommodate.
Note: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks, including verification of employment, education, and criminal records.
