Position Summary:
The Manager of Sourcing and Vendor Management reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Compliance working within the overall corporate umbrella of Compliance. They oversee the end-to-end relationships with external suppliers, focusing on sourcing, contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and risk mitigation. They align vendor capabilities with company goals, optimize costs, and ensure quality standards. They are responsible for evaluating, monitoring, and managing suppliers based on sustainability and ethical standards. Key responsibilities include procurement, qualification, vendor onboarding, managing KPIs, compliance management, and strategic sourcing to improve efficiency.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Vendor Selection & Sourcing: Researching and selecting vendors to meet procurement needs and overseeing the onboarding process
Contract Negotiation: Reviewing and supporting Scout Legal with negotiating contracts, including terms of service, pricing, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
Supplier ESG Due Diligence & Assessment: Screen and onboard new suppliers using ESG questionnaires and assessments to ensure compliance with human rights, environmental laws, and labor practices
Performance Monitoring: Tracking vendor KPIs to ensure compliance with company standards for quality, speed, and cost-effectiveness
Risk Management: Mitigating operational, financial, and compliance risks through proactive vendor management and contingency planning
Relationship Management: Developing collaborative partnerships, conducting performance reviews, and managing vendor disputes
Cost Control: Analyzing spend data to identify cost-saving opportunities and ensuring competitive pricing
ESG Data Management & Reporting: Collect and analyze supplier data on emissions (Scope 3) and other metrics for corporate sustainability disclosures and stakeholder reports
Conduct, complete and file vendor qualification documentation
Support Quality with vendor non-conformance or quality event investigation, reporting, and remediation
Create custom vendor-related reports to support Board presentations or individual client requests
Participate in company SBTi planning and development
Complete all required initial and ongoing training within a reasonable or provided timeframe
The ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills, and knowledge:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field or equivalent experience
3+ years in procurement, purchasing, or vendor management
Experience in the clinical research space is a plus
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and procurement software to perform spend analysis
Understanding of contract law, supplier risk factors, and industry-specific compliance requirements
Understanding of ESG Frameworks; knowledge of GRI, SASB, TCFD, or ISO 20400 standards a plus
Prioritization and Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to handle multiple procurement projects.
