We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Extensibility and Integrations teams. The Extensibility team designs, builds, and maintains Figma's customer-facing APIs, and the Integrations team partners closely with Figma's partners to build best-in-class integrations between Figma and other products. Our mission for these teams is to empower every user to make Figma work their way by providing an approachable, powerful, comprehensive, and reliable extension platform. As a key member of our engineering leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving our product's extensibility strategy, building a best-in-class-team, and ensuring the highest quality, scalability, and reliability of our platform.
This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.
What you'll do at Figma:
Manage and grow a team of engineers focused on building and expanding Figma’s Extensibility and Integrations platforms.
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of customer-facing APIs, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
Develop and implement integrations with third-party products that meaningfully improve the shared customer experience.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize integration opportunities. Develop and maintain relationships with third-party vendors and partners.
Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to coordinate work across product, design, engineering, marketing, and partnerships teams.
Use your technical background to ensure that your teams are making the right technical decisions and trade-offs while ensuring a cohesive product experience.
Recruit, mentor and retain high performing engineers (and help with other cross functional roles). You’ll foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and taking calculated risks.
Figma is committed to building an inclusive and diverse team and culture. We expect all of our leaders to play a role in helping to build and drive these initiatives through hiring, community events, and other programs in partnership with teams across all of Figma.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
4+ years of engineering management experience.
Experience building external APIs/developer platforms.
A proven track record of building technical products (both as a manager and individual contributor) for a developer audience.
A relentless focus on business impact through product & full stack engineering excellence.
Demonstrated leadership skills in building a high-performing and highly engaged engineering team; including a proven track record of motivating, mentoring, and guiding senior engineers.
While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:
Experience building or leading a team that delivered customer-facing APIs or similar extensibility offerings.
At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
