Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

The Team
Access Experience Engineering (AXE) is part of Netflix’s Access Control Engineering (ACE) domain within the Security Service Engineering organization under our broader Security umbrella. AXE turns ACE’s deep authorization and access‑control capabilities into paved paths, tools, and self‑service experiences that make it easy and safe for engineers across Netflix to implement access in a secure, consistent way.

AXE focuses on:

  • Building and operating the access experience and integration layer: UIs, APIs, SDKs, and workflows that sit on top of core access services (e.g., Turnstile).

  • Providing clear, easy‑to‑adopt patterns so internal teams can request, grant, audit, and revoke access without needing to be access‑control specialists.

  • Reducing bespoke, one‑off implementations by offering reusable connectors, libraries, and onboarding flows across a wide variety of internal services and platforms.

  • Enabling a follow‑the‑sun, async‑first model in partnership with ACE Core and Access Risk Consultancy (ARC), with AXE based in Poland and Core/ARC primarily in UCAN.

AXE strives for an environment where:

  • Access controls are straightforward to adopt and correctly implemented by default.

  • Internal teams can self‑serve integrations and changes instead of relying on ad‑hoc consulting.

  • ACE’s strategy and risk posture are embedded in tools and workflows, not only in documentation.

  • Time zones are leveraged through strong written communication and clear ownership.

We are building AXE as a first‑class, Poland‑based product and engineering team with local leadership and deep ownership, tightly connected to ACE’s global strategy.

Role: Engineering Manager, AXE (Poland)
You will lead a Poland‑based engineering team that builds and operates the access experience and integration layer at Netflix. You will partner closely with ACE Core, ARC, and cross‑functional stakeholders to drive adoption of secure access patterns across a wide variety of internal services and platforms.

Core skills and experience
We are looking for candidates who bring many of the following:

  • Experience leading impactful engineering teams focused on backend or full‑stack systems, such as internal platforms and developer‑facing tools / integration services including APIs, SDKs, and connectors/ complex, multi‑tenant environments with high integration density.

  • Experience mentoring team members and cultivating technical leadership within a local hub.

  • Strong technical proficiency relevant to distributed systems and identity and access management (IAM), including architecting and maintaining resilient backend infrastructure, working with security concepts such as authentication, authorization, and identity management, addressing integration challenges across heterogeneous technology stacks.

  • Ability to collaborate with ACE Core to translate security requirements into engineering solutions, including in scenarios where direct IAM experience is still developing.

  • A product‑centric mindset for the experience layer, with a focus on:

  • Driving adoption through paved paths that reduce the need for custom solutions.

  • Supporting the end‑to‑end lifecycle from discovery and onboarding to auditing.

  • Partnering with PM/TPM functions to execute on strategic roadmaps and agreed‑upon success metrics.

  • Experience working in a distributed, async‑first environment, with the ability to lead teams whose partners operate across different time zones, support local autonomy while staying aligned with global leadership, use overlapping hours effectively through clear written communication.

  • Ability to build strong cross‑functional relationships and communicate effectively in order to represent AXE’s strategy with senior engineering leadership, navigate complex tradeoffs and collaborate across Infra and N‑Tech.

  • Commitment to people development and hub building, including coaching individual contributors and providing a clear scope for meaningful impact, and recruiting in Poland and contributing to a culture rooted in Netflix values.

  • A pragmatic, risk‑informed approach to decision‑making, balancing security, developer experience, and usability.
