At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.

The Page Systems Team builds high-throughput, low-latency backend systems that power Netflix Member Experience Pages, such as the Homepage and Search, delivering real-time responses to UI clients, bringing Netflix experience to hundreds of millions of Netflix members. Our vision is to create a flexible product platform capable of generating diverse pages at Netflix scale in real time, while enabling our product engineering and multiple business domain partners to rapidly innovate on their experiences through highly reliable self-service interfaces.

This team sits at the cross section of product, engineering, science, and data, and you will play a highly cross-functional role partnering with product engineering teams, cross domain partners, business analytics, product management, machine learning, and data teams to ensure our services are functionally and operationally excellent.

We are seeking an engineering leader to guide our team in developing this product platform. This leader will be instrumental in advancing our Platform systems and driving Netflix's success. We are looking for someone who is technically proficient and can cultivate a collaborative and inclusive environment, mentoring a diverse team of engineers, including experienced engineers and newcomers. The ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker focused on enhancing our architecture to unlock new product capabilities and drive business impact. Above all, this leader should embody Netflix's core values, promoting creativity, curiosity, and excellence.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team of strong engineers building high-scale, zero-to-one systems.

  • Drive architecture, design, and execution of product infrastructure systems.

  • Develop a strategic roadmap focused on incremental delivery and high business impact.

  • Define success metrics, align migration goals, and drive platform adoption.

  • Communicate progress effectively to stakeholders, customers, and senior leadership.

  • Balance platform evolution by maintaining existing systems while prioritizing next-gen development.

  • Hire, mentor, and grow a diverse, high-performing team, fostering an inclusive team culture.

What we are looking for in you:

  • An engineering leader with 4 - 6 years of experience leading backend distributed systems teams, platform experience is a plus.

  • A leadership style that prioritizes giving and receiving feedback, fostering new ideas, and empowering others, without micromanagement.

  • Ability to balance operating inwards to lead a high performing engineering team with operating outwards to build strong and effective partner relations.

  • Strong technical acumen and ability to act as a technical advisor to the team.

  • Focus on operational excellence of large Tier-1 systems.

  • A track record of hiring diverse, highly talented engineers and growing successful, highly impactful teams.

  • Excellence in communicating context with the team, stakeholders, partners, and leadership. Ability to drive the team’s roadmap by connecting the dots between your team’s work and business needs, managing expectations, and navigating competing priorities.

  • A BS or higher in Computer Science/Engineering or a related discipline.

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options.
