Job Summary
The Manager, Cloud is primarily responsible for guiding the cloud team in the management of our cloud resources and automation of our processes and practices. The Manager, Cloud oversees the evaluation of upcoming work, assessing scope and feasibility of projects, and ensuring that the team is working to complete all projects in a timely fashion. The Manager, Cloud is ultimately responsible for ensuring the uptime of our applications in production and driving workload optimizations through the department. The Manager, Cloud will work with the Director of Technology Operations to determine priorities and define plans to achieve departmental and company goals.

Essential Functions
Manage a large-scale production environment with multiple workloads at varying cloud maturity levels
Manage and mentor Cloud engineers
Guide and direct Cloud infrastructure projects
Drive and implement improvements throughout the team
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards such as SOC 2 and HIPAA
Partner with development teams to ensure we are delivering scalable, reliable and secure solutions
Communicate with all levels of the organization, often balancing competing priorities
Develop plans to achieve company and departmental goals
Drive incident response and manage 24/7 on-call rotation
Estimate effort and timeline on projects as designed
Architect and design solutions to complex systems
Evaluate advanced issues for customer-impacting issue resolution
Minimum Requirements
2+ years of experience as a people manager
7-10 years of industry experience, with at least 5 in production cloud experience
2+ years of experience with the Microsoft tech stack (Azure, .Net, IIS, SQL Server, etc.)
Demonstrated success managing teams in a fast-growing environment
Ability to collaborate well with diverse partners, influence without direct authority, and build strong relationships across teams
Experience with Scrum or Kanban practices
Experience managing a 24/7 on-call rotation in a SaaS-based environment
Ability to deep dive into technical challenges, architect solutions and get hands-on
A passion for operational excellence, and the ability proactively identify and resolve issues
Preferred Qualifications
An affinity towards working in environments with tremendous growth, and have been through the journey before
Proven track record of identifying scaling issues and operational risks before they become a problem
Experience working in software development
Working Environment/Physical Demands
Activities require a significant amount of work in front of a computer monitor
Long-distance or air travel as needed – not to exceed 10% travel.
