About the role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Licensing Manager to support the growth of our business, which exists at the intersection of the insurance and cybersecurity industries. This individual will be responsible for directly and indirectly procuring, managing, and maintaining entity and individual insurance licenses for the organization. This role will include developing and managing the Company’s licensing strategy, as well as ensuring licensing compliance. A successful candidate must have experience as a P&C insurance licensing professional, outstanding communication, teamwork, and leadership skills, anticipate and deliver on the licensing needs of a fast-paced and innovative insurance business.
Responsibilities
Responsible for day-to-day tasks required to meet and maintain the Company's licensing compliance in all jurisdictions that the Company operates
Manage direct or indirect procurement of all entity and individual producer and adjuster licenses required by the company to execute on business goals, which shall include directing all third-party contractors engaged to secure licenses in a timely manner
Develop and maintain licensing records for compliance and internal/external audit purposes
Experience with creating new and managing existing licensing reporting/analytics
Stay up-to-date with regulatory and state-wide developments in the area of licensing to ensure the Company’s compliance with industry regulations and support the Company’s business needs
Establish, implement, and manage internal processes and procedures to maintain entity and individual licenses required in all jurisdictions that the Company operates
Collaborate with members of the Legal and Compliance Department to develop a global licensing strategy
Develop and maintain relationships with state or provincial licensing authorities or other insurance points of contact
Maintain communication and reporting with assigned business owners with individual licenses to ensure compliance and avoid business impacts
Develop, project, and reconcile annual budget for the Company’s global licensing needs
Oversee third-party examinations and audits; ensure that information requests from insurance carrier partners, auditors, and regulators are completed accurately and on-time
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
10+ years of experience managing insurance licensing for an organization
5+ years of experience in the property and casualty insurance industry
Extensive knowledge of state and provincial insurance licensing requirements to procure and maintain entity and individual insurance agency licenses
Demonstrated experience successfully managing collaborative working relationships at all levels of the organization
Deep knowledge of state regulations and legislation related to insurance licensing
Passion for keeping abreast of licensing compliance trends and developments
Strong capacity to work independently and demonstrate both good reasoning abilities and sound judgment
Experience and/or affiliation with the Securities and Insurance Licensing Association preferred
Excellent organizational and communication skills, including the ability to resolve conflict and difficult issues in a professional, assertive, and proactive manner
Ability to think and act strategically, multi-task, follow through on projects in a timely manner, and adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment
Must have the ability to professionally progress commensurate with the growth of the business
Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $107,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $125,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location.
