As a Distinguished, User Experience (UX) Lead Researcher, you will oversee and guide the entire user experience research process within our organization, including strategy development, research methodologies, data analysis, and the communication of insights to cross-functional teams so that user needs are prioritized and integrated into product design decisions. You will bring your expertise in mixed method experience research to ensure that our product solutions meet our current and prospective customers’ expectations. In this role, you will help to define best practices, apply qualitative and quantitative skill sets to your own projects, and manage one researcher. 

Inspire and guide a small team to build exceptional, easy-to-use products. Leverage your design and research expertise and your strong cross-functional relationships to lead projects in key strategic areas impacting AffiniPay’s long-term success.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain research methodologies and best practices within the team

  • Lead research across internal and external facing product experiences

  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative studies on your own focus areas, while also teaching best practice areas to other researchers

  • Lead one UX researcher, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, data analysts, and leaders to identify possible research goals and timelines

  • Create compelling presentations and reports to communicate learnings across the entire company, including to senior leadership

  • Keep abreast of emerging UX research methodologies, tools, and industry trends, and help keep the product organization informed of new developments

  • Evaluate and refine research processes to maintain quality & effectiveness

About You

  • 6+ years industry experience, where you utilized both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies 

  • Experience in user-centered design principles and practices 

  • Demonstrated track record of leading research projects with a focus on connecting your work to the broader business strategy and making progress against key outcomes

  • Ability to leverage strong storytelling and presentation skills to create artifacts and share research findings in ways that are tailored to and motivate cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Understanding of general user behavior and needs, and are comfortable interacting regularly with users virtually and in-person to glean understanding of our product and industry

  • 1-3 years of experience in leading a small team of direct reports
