Job Description Summary:
To Lead the India Payroll team and oversea all processes and approvals along with answering queries from both employees and other departments.
Job Description:
The Lead will be responsible for making sure the India payroll is processed correctly and in a timely manner. They will also be responsible for the 2 payroll specialist. Lead will also be monitoring employee payroll queries along with answering to other departments queries, such as reporting and auditors questions.
Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of payroll, including all wages withholdings, deductions, garnishments, and reporting. Evaluates existing processes and recommends changes for efficiency. Responsible for reconciling reports and financial data. Works with different business units in the accurate processing of leaves, benefits, or other special programs with a payroll impact. Conducts special calculations in regard to proration or multiple rate situations. Responsible for G/L integrations, off-cycle processing, and financial settlement of funds with third parties and treasury. Understand and maintain internal controls and assist with the preparation and update of control self-assessments for SOX compliance as well as third party/external auditor requests. Responsible for tax set-up in new states and all payroll taxation issues. Responsible for year-end processing, reporting, and W2 preparation. Works closely with third party vendor on W2 preparation and mailing. Responsible for the accurate documentation of payroll procedures. Will train and mentor Specialists on processes as an ongoing duty.
Operates under minimal supervision with latitude for independent judgement and regularly provides status updates to senior management. Oversees workflow to ensure department deadlines are met.
Requires 8+ years of recent payroll related experience in a multi-state payroll environment applying federal and state laws and regulations. Global payroll experience preferred.
