Mission:
The mission of the Learning & Development Manager is to drive organizational excellence through the strategic design, implementation, and management of comprehensive learning and development programs. The role is tasked with fostering a culture of continuous improvement, talent development, and employee engagement, aligning all initiatives with the company's overall objectives. By focusing on innovative learning strategies, impactful onboarding, and career development, the Learning & Talent Development Manager plays a key role in shaping a high-performance environment.
This is a contractor position, so you can provide your services from anywhere in the world as long as you can adapt to the Uruguayan timezone.
Main Responsibilities:
Learning Strategies and Programs
Develop and implement comprehensive and easy-to-scale learning strategies and programs aligned with quarterly organizational objectives, ensuring 100% of alignment with business needs.
Create content to support the diffusion and comprehension of our core values and core competencies and support cultural components. Set the initiatives in partnership with the VP of People that the rest of the People teams will need to execute to promote Trafilea’s culture and values within the organization.
Design tailored training programs for each department and level of the organization, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
Support establishing an extraordinary leadership model to enhance our workplace and reduce attrition.
Have a goal-oriented, proactive, and resolutive attitude towards content creation that the business leaders cannot support due to time constraints.
Implement ongoing gamification for critical quarterly people engagement programs.
Ensure critical training and development policies are adjusted, documented, and accessible to all contributors.
To be constantly updated about training and development strategies and best practices.
Platforms
Evaluate and implement new training & feedback tools to enhance program delivery.
Oversee the improvement of the UX overall training & development platforms.
Ensure the regular update of video tutorials and handbooks for critical execution processes.
Lead a dedicated team in creating engaging training materials.
Onboarding Improvements
Maintain an onboarding satisfaction score of >80% overall while reducing initial 3 months turnover score to its minimum.
Ensure monthly updates of the onboarding matrix per department and role.
Implement and improve onboarding programs for various roles to support rapid headcount growth, with extra focus on Marketing and IT.
Act as a learning buddy of all new leaders and SR roles joining the company to ensure smooth knowledge incorporation.
Be the final approver of all the onboarding plans for Sr roles to ensure their fast adoption of the main company’s methodologies and culture.
Performance Management & Result-Driven Organization:
Conduct quarterly performance reviews with >95% completion by all managers.
Implement 360 reviews annually for the leadership team and ensure the execution and delivery of qualitative analysis and reports.
Execute OKRs and result-oriented methodologies throughout the organization.
Conduct Talent Calibrations twice a year and identify high-performers, high potentials and low performers, ensuring world-class reports to all department leaders and People Business Partners.
Ensure constant communication with People Business Partners to discuss performance gaps.
Implement career paths for technical and management roles to enhance talent retention and growth opportunities.
Own the Mentoring and Hero Leader training programs creating super 2.0 versions of the already existing methodology, materials and curricula.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Collaborate with the definition of the division’s OKRs and initiatives quarterly, ensuring a minimum of 85% of completion.
Define weekly and quarterly plans, providing regular status reports. Ensure to check status of main training & development processes per department, weekly.
Demonstrate strong project management skills, managing multiple responsibilities and priorities effectively.
Support to People Operations and PPAEC
Partner with MTKTG People Business Partner to ensure the execution of all training & development strategies by providing real-time information and reports to tackle opportunities.
Ensure the correct partnerships between the team and their PPAEC and People Operations counterparts to guarantee the correct information flows to drive execution.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, or a related field. Master’s degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Learning & Development, strongly emphasizing scaling trainings and content management with limited budgets.
Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing training programs across multiple business units (hands-on), demonstrating adaptability to various organizational structures and needs. Instructional design certification is a plus for this role.
In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles, adult learning theories, and best practices in training methodologies.
Strong project management skills with experience in managing complex, cross-functional initiatives.
Exceptional content development and management skills, including the ability to create engaging and impactful learning materials.
Familiarity with various learning management systems (LMS) and other training delivery platforms.
Demonstrated experience in scaling training programs to support rapid organizational growth.
Proven ability to adapt training strategies to meet the unique needs of different business units while maintaining consistency in quality and content
Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and leading high-performance teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
Good prioritization skills and a tolerance for frustration are key to surviving in the fast-paced and dynamic environment of a very young company like ours.
Experience in creating and delivering presentations and training sessions to diverse audiences.
Familiarity with e-commerce, technology, or a similar industry is highly desirable.
Understanding of global workforce dynamics and cultural considerations in training design.
