Internal Tooling Engineer
About Finary
We're building a one-stop shop for investing that gives power back to individual investors. Finary lets users track their assets, manage budgets, invest money, and learn about finance, all in one place.
Launched in 2021, we've grown to 850,000+ users. In September 2025, we closed a EUR 25M Series B led by PayPal Ventures, with backing from Y Combinator, Hedosophia, Speedinvest, and founders from Qonto, Photoroom, Bitpanda, UBS, and Wise.
We care deeply about user experience, performance, and shipping products that genuinely improve people's financial lives.
TL;DR
You'll build the tools and AI-powered automation that make Finary's 28-person engineering team and every team across the company operate faster. Senior IC on the Platform team, working directly with internal stakeholders to identify friction and eliminate it. High ownership, direct access to users, and a real edge in AI engineering.
What you'll do
Own the design, development, and maintenance of internal tools used daily across engineering, ops, product, and finance
Build agentic AI workflows that automate repetitive internal processes and unlock new capabilities for our teams
Work directly with stakeholders across all teams to identify friction and turn it into functional solutions
Evaluate and integrate the latest AI engineering tools; you'll be our edge here
Contribute to a polyglot codebase and collaborate with the broader engineering team on shared infrastructure
What we're looking for
Software engineer with experience in high-paced environments
You've shipped automated workflows and AI-powered tools in production (n8n, Dust, or equivalent), not just used them
You've built for internal users before and understand that reliability matters more than polish
You can navigate a polyglot codebase (Rust, Ruby, PostgreSQL) without slowing down
You're based in Europe and can join us in Paris for onsite weeks every 6 weeks
Nice to have:
Experience with developer experience or platform engineering
Familiarity with fintech or a regulated industry
Passion for personal finance and investing
Tech stack
Primary: TypeScript
Codebase: Rust, Ruby, PostgreSQL
AI tooling: LLMs, n8n, Dust, Claude, Cursor, and whatever comes next
What we offer
Compensation
Level 1 (learning the craft): n/a
Level 2 (level 1 + autonomy): EUR 52-62k
Level 3 (level 2 + ownership): EUR 65-75k
Level 4 (level 3 + technical leadership): EUR 78-88k
Level 5 (level 4 + shapes company direction): n/a
All levels include stock options. This role is open from Level 2 to Level 4 depending on experience.
Team
You'll report to the VP of Engineering and work as part of the Platform team. You'll have direct access to your internal customers from day one and the autonomy to shape how internal tooling works at Finary.
Benefits
Hybrid setup: teammates across France and Europe, with in-person weeks in Paris 6 times per year (travel and accommodation covered)
High-performing environment with A-players who challenge you and help you grow
Impact that compounds: better tools today make every team more effective tomorrow
How we work
We ship fast and iterate constantly. We break complex problems into small pieces, get feedback from the people using our tools, and polish as we go. Internal tooling is not a backlog item at Finary; it's a strategic lever.
Even if you don't check every box, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse perspectives and are more interested in your potential than a perfect match to our checklist.
How to apply?
Tell us why you want to join Finary. Share with us what excites you about our mission and how you will contribute. Make your first impression count.
