Managing Consultants at Guidehouse play a pivotal role in leading project delivery and ensuring the successful implementation of strategy and transformation solutions for healthcare system clients. Working under the guidance of a Director or Associate Director, this position is responsible for managing day-to-day project activities, coordinating cross-functional teams, and driving operational excellence across client engagements. The Managing Consultant partners closely with clients and internal stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into actionable project plans, deliver high-quality solutions, and foster strong client relationships. Success in this position is measured by the ability to deliver projects on time and within budget, achieve client satisfaction, and contribute to the growth of Guidehouse’s healthcare consulting practice. We are currently seeking a Managing Consultant with deep healthcare strategy and partnership and consulting experience. This role supports clients in evaluating, planning, and partnering to optimize healthcare delivery across and between health care systems. In this role, you will:
Manage client engagements and day-to-day client relationships
Serve as a subject matter expert in healthcare planning, including facility master planning and/or ambulatory network design
Execute and oversee client deliverables, including synthesizing the strategic, financial, and operational implications of healthcare analyses
Provide benchmarking insights into a wide range of payer, provider, or health system analytics including financial analysis, clinical performance, and operational efficiency
Synthesize complex healthcare concepts and build a credible roadmap for healthcare delivery and/or infrastructure partnerships through understanding of stakeholder needs
Conduct market research to identify viable, mutually beneficial health care delivery partnering arrangements between or among public and private health care entities
Regularly present findings and recommendations to senior clients, effectively communicating strategies and planning implications through verbal and written deliverables
Proactively identify and assess healthcare industry trends that can be utilized in client delivery
Oversee, mentor, and develop more junior colleagues
Collaborate with peers and executive leadership to create and model a positive, high-performing culture
What You Will Need:·
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, public policy, or related field
7 years minimum (9 years preferred) of previous work experience in healthcare administration/management experience for a healthcare system and/or a consulting firm
Clinical or operational background within a healthcare system, with the ability to translate clinical and operational insight into system-level planning and strategy
Experience with strategic partnerships and operational partnering efforts among healthcare entities
Capacity to own a complex work stream, meet deadlines, and drive results
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated excellence in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
A track record of efficiency, flexibility, creative problem-solving, self-motivation, and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior staff
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
What Would Be Nice To Have:
An advanced degree in a relevant field (MHA, MBA, MPH, MPA, PhD, or similar)
PMP Certification or similar
2+ years of experience with federal (i.e., Department of Veterans Affairs, Military Health System, or Department of Health and Human Services) and major commercial healthcare systems in healthcare delivery planning and strategic partnership execution
Experience providing healthcare consulting services to federal and/or major commercial healthcare systems
Experience working for a large management consulting firm supporting healthcare clients, particularly in healthcare strategy, transformation, partnering, and planning
Exceptional client management experience
Experience supporting business development and proposal creation
The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00-$188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
