Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Global Deal Management’s (GDM) primary goal is to ensure operational excellence across deal cycles, increase revenue through the development of transformative commercial constructs, and drive closure of Stripe’s sold portfolio. The team's reach is widespread across Stripe, not exclusive to one sales segment or geographical region; GDM drives change across go-to-market, positively impacting Stripe users, and cross-functional teams. GDM’s priorities are set through the direction of Stripe leadership and executive vision, partnership with sales and cross-functional organizations, as well as User feedback and market insights.

What you’ll do

Stripe’s Global Deal Management’s team is looking for a Governance Lead, who will be accountable for owning product launch readiness so Sales can effectively sell to Stripe’s customers. This is a large scope, including owning the development and support of GTM launch readiness frameworks, required program enablement, and launch governance. You will be responsible for the framework design and driving cross-organizational alignment through the delivery of new governance models. This role requires a background in creating and driving new operating frameworks, a strong understanding of product launches & selling motions, and experience scaling cross-organizational mechanisms. Additionally, you may be managing other existing operating frameworks such as deal support models.

The candidate will have experience with SaaS products, governance programs, and a background in supporting selling motions. The candidate will have strong communication skills and executive presence to effectively communicate with Stripe senior leadership. You will love this job if you are a natural relationship and mechanism builder.

Responsibilities

  • Work with product, sales teams, sales leaders, services/support teams, and cross-functional teams to review GTM launch readiness requirements, ensuring compliance with established governance reviews.

  • Understand the business and technical requirements of our customers and partners, advising sales teams on the best approach (balancing risk between product launch capabilities and internal system limitations).

  • Work cross-functionally to develop global mechanisms to support GTM launch readiness

  • Remove internal blockers between cross-functional teams such as Product, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Service Teams, etc.

  • Quickly build credibility and trust with internal customers.

  • Provide strong leadership, communication, and persuasion skills.

  • Lead projects to solve existing governance issues.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Technology, Finance, or Economics.

  • 8+ years of experience in governance/legal, program management, and/or management consulting.

  • Experience working in ambiguous, quickly scaling environments, comfortable with high-agency.

  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and program/project management skills.

  • Experience working with SaaS products.

  • Demonstrated business sense with ownership and ability to scale mechanisms.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience driving cross-team mechanism development end to end (ideation, planning, execution, launch, post-launch support).

  • JD in International Law or Business
