GrowthAssistant is looking for a Graphic Designer CPG Packaging Specialist to support one of our US-based clients in creating polished and production-ready packaging designs. This teammate will be responsible for designing labels, cartons, pouches, and other packaging formats for both DTC and retail channels.

The Role:

  • Packaging Design & Development

    • Design packaging for CPG products (labels, cartons, pouches, etc.) across print and digital formats

    • Create retail and DTC packaging that aligns with brand strategy and consumer expectations

  • Production & Print Preparation

    • Prepare accurate, print-ready files using dielines, trim marks, and bleed settings

    • Ensure designs meet specifications for various materials (e.g., flexible, rigid)

  • Brand & Regulatory Compliance

    • Ensure packaging meets regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA guidelines, supplement facts)

    • Maintain visual consistency across all packaging assets while introducing creative storytelling elements

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with brand, marketing, and product development teams

    • Support visual needs for in-store and e-commerce mockups, product renderings, and promo materials

  • Technical Execution & Vendor Coordination

    • Apply knowledge of CMYK, Pantone systems, and print production specs

    • Collaborate with print vendors and manufacturers on file prep and spec sheet completion

The Requirements:

Must-Haves:

  • 3+ years of experience in graphic design, with a focus on CPG packaging

  • A strong portfolio showcasing packaging work for US-based consumer products (beauty, food, wellness, household, etc.)

  • Experience designing for both retail and Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) packaging formats

  • Deep understanding of dielines, print production, and packaging specifications

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

  • Strong eye for color, typography, and layout, with high attention to detail

  • Ability to work independently and manage timelines

  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Comfortable receiving and implementing feedback in a collaborative team environment

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience working directly with US-based printing vendors or packaging manufacturers

  • Experience transitioning a DTC product into retail-ready packaging Background in branding or visual identity development

What Success Looks Like:

  • High-quality, print-ready designs delivered on time and aligned with brand aesthetics

  • Smooth execution of DTC-to-retail packaging transitions

  • Strong collaboration with cross-functional teams

  • Proactive approach in spotting creative opportunities and improving packaging systems
