The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented compliance professional with a strong focus on privacy to join our team. As a Global Privacy Manager (GPM) you will be responsible for ensuring that our client organizations meet the requirements of specific privacy frameworks and laws. Your primary goal will be to guide and support companies in achieving and maintaining compliance with privacy regulations by conducting audits, developing and reviewing policies and procedures, and providing expert advice. You will play a critical role in safeguarding personal information, promoting transparency, and building trust with our clients' stakeholders.

What You Will Do

  • Conduct comprehensive privacy assessments and audits of client organizations to evaluate their compliance with applicable privacy frameworks and laws.

  • Review and assess existing and implemented privacy policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry best practices, and organizational objectives.

  • Draft privacy guidance, redline privacy policies and procedures.

  • Advise clients on privacy-related issues, requirements, and strategies to effectively mitigate risks and achieve compliance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, IT, and security departments, to ensure privacy considerations are integrated into business processes, systems, and products.

  • Provide guidance and support to clients in mapping and documenting data flows, data inventories, and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).

  • Stay abreast of evolving privacy laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure ongoing compliance and identify emerging risks.

  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees and stakeholders on privacy principles, policies, and practices.

  • Maintain calibration to privacy standards underlying certifications.

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of privacy certifications and accreditations, ensuring alignment with relevant frameworks and laws.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on privacy-related inquiries, incidents, and breach response efforts.

  • Meet defined monthly and quarterly assessment and performance goals.

  • Foster the growth of TrustArc clients from a revenue and account management perspective.

  • Maintain knowledge of current events in the legal and compliance spaces as they relate to privacy practices

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in law, privacy, information systems, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications (e.g., CIPP, CIPT, CIPM) are highly desirable.

  • Proven experience working in privacy compliance, preferably in a consulting, privacy and compliance operations or auditing role.

  • In-depth knowledge of cross border data transfers, global privacy regulations and frameworks, such as GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA, and ISO 27701.

  • Familiarity with industry-specific privacy requirements (e.g., healthcare, financial services, digital advertising) is a plus.

  • Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence data governance is an advantage.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and apply them to practical scenarios.

  • Experience conducting privacy assessments, audits, and risk assessments, and the ability to develop remediation plans.

  • Ability to explain privacy requirements, and developments to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members.

  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

  • Proficient in using privacy management tools and technologies.

  • Experience in fast-paced environment, excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Familiarity with major CRM systems and experience with project management tools.

  • A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity, confidentiality, and ethical behavior.

  • Understanding of complex emerging Internet technologies, online tracking, cloud/processor activities, encryption and anonymizing data (or ability to quickly learn) is a plus.

  • Nice to have fluency in Chinese language

Creates, articulates and ensures common understanding and execution of TrustArc's vision and strategy. Focuses efforts and makes decisions according to importance and impact.

Compensation: up to $100,000/year

Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
