General Manager - Title & Escrow Services
The General Manager, Title & Escrow will build and scale our national title and escrow operation from the ground up to support our rapidly growing SFR acquisitions business—currently acquiring thousands of homes annually. This is a rare opportunity to create meaningful impact by designing and implementing a best-in-class title organization that will become a competitive advantage for the company.
This role requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution. You'll establish operational frameworks, build high-performing teams, and leverage relationships with national underwriters to scale this core function. The ideal candidate is a proven title executive with deep operational experience, a strong network in the industry, and a track record of scaling operations in high-growth environments. Success requires effective collaboration across our portfolio companies to deliver seamless transaction execution at scale.
Core Responsibilities
1. Operational Leadership & Execution
Design, launch, and scale multi-state title and escrow operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and underwriting standards.
Implement efficient workflows, SLAs, and process controls to deliver consistent, high-quality closings for residential transactions.
Lead day-to-day operations, including technology integrations, audit readiness, and ongoing optimization of closing performance metrics.
Drive innovation through adoption of modern title technology, automation, and data-driven process management.
Oversee financial performance, including P&L accountability, revenue forecasting, and margin optimization.
2. Organizational Design & Talent Development
Build the organizational structure and staffing model for a national title and escrow business.
Recruit, onboard, and mentor high-performing teams — including title and escrow managers, escrow officers, and support staff.
Develop and implement training programs, operating procedures, and career pathways to support scalability and consistency.
Foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
3. Strategic Underwriter & Partnership Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with major national underwriters, ensuring best-in-market pricing, support, and partnership alignment.
Negotiate underwriting agreements, premium structures, and compliance frameworks that optimize cost and service levels.
Serve as the primary liaison for audits, licensing, and compliance coordination with underwriters and regulators.
Represent the company as a trusted and respected industry partner across underwriter and vendor networks.
Qualifications
15+ years of progressive leadership in title and escrow operations, with national or multi-state scope.
Demonstrated success building or scaling a title and escrow business, ideally in a tech-enabled or high-growth environment.
Deep operational understanding of residential closing processes and title insurance compliance.
Established relationships with major national underwriters and a history of effective negotiation and partnership management.
Experience owning business unit P&L, implementing technology-driven efficiencies, and managing large-scale teams.
Entrepreneurial, adaptable, and comfortable operating in ambiguity — ideally with experience in a startup or new business launch context.
