About the role
You will be a member of the FX team in WorldRemit. The role holder will be responsible for developing and managing the firm's FX activities, opportunities and exposures in the Francophone West Africa region. The role will be split between trading & execution and business development.
As a member of WorldRemit’s FX team you will aim high, embrace challenge and always do what’s right; acting with integrity and building trust as you contribute to the company’s technical direction and long term decision making.
Reporting to the Head of FX, you will:
Build out and development of the Francophone West Africa FX business
Accurate execution and confirmation of FX trades on behalf of WR
Working extensively with commercial, network & finance partners to drive existing and new business opportunities
Developing and maintaining relationships with banks and liquidity providers to ensure competitive FX pricing within the region, becoming the first point of contact in the region
Regular travel to develop ‘onshore’ commercial relationships
Develop the region to become a significant contributor to the Global Treasury P&L
Create & deliver FX content for commercial presentations
Build and document FX / commercial opportunities to senior management
Ensuring that FX / Treasury risks are managed effectively in the region
Maintaining a close relationship with Treasury middle and back office through regular interactions to ensure seamless operational processing of FX deals
What we’re looking for from you
Significant experience in FX or global financial markets businesses
Strong business development & negotiation skills / experience
Strong understanding of African local FX markets & regulatory environments / conventions
Understanding and or experience of cross border payments
Experience of eFX and pricing / risk management systems
Analytical and logical approach to problem solving.
Proven competitive drive to achieve results
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English/French Speaking)
Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels
Ability to communicate complex information effectively
