As a Food Data Curator, your job will be to make it easier for our members to find and log food. You’ll improve our database by researching, correcting, and categorizing food data. This position is critical to our team and our users to create the best experience possible. In this position, you will report to the Lead Nutrition Scientist.

This contract will be valid through the end of 2024 with a possibility of extension.

What you’ll be doing: 

  • Verify food data for accuracy and completeness

  • Categorize and tag foods within our food taxonomy system

  • Improve the process of food curation by providing feedback

  • Manage food data in our database

  • Assist with product and marketing content development and recipe analysis

Qualifications to be successful in this role: 

  • Native French speaker, currently living in France is highly preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Science, or related field

  • Registered Dietitian (or German equivalent) is desired but not required; individuals with experience in specialized food science or food data environments will be considered in lieu of an RD

  • At least 1 year of experience working with nutrition analysis software

  • Experience in navigating verified food data systems like FoodData Central

  • Knowledge of food preparation/cooking, recipe creation, recipe analysis

  • High attention to detail

  • Ability to provide constructive feedback, problem solve, and improve systems and processes

  • Strong interest in helping millions of people achieve their health and fitness goals

This contract will be valid through the end of 2024 with a possibility of extension.
