About Datadog
We're on a mission to build the best platform in the world for engineers to understand and scale their systems, applications, and teams. We operate at high scale—trillions of data points per day—allowing for seamless collaboration and problem-solving among Dev, Ops and Security teams globally for tens of thousands of companies. Our engineering culture values pragmatism, honesty, and simplicity to solve hard problems the right way.
The team
The Cost Reporting team is part of Datadog’s internal infrastructure team and is responsible for all things cloud cost related, which includes providing engineering teams with meaningful cloud spend visibility, empowering finance and executive leadership to understand the complexities of cloud costs, securing the best reservation discount rates, and identifying cost savings opportunities. Having worked on these problems for a few years, we already have a lot of the basics covered, and we’re looking to push our team’s capabilities to the next level.

There will also be opportunities to work on cost visibility, forecasting, business insights, and reservation management, but initially you’ll be primarily focused on cost optimizations.
You will
Work across engineering departments to coordinate cost reporting, evangelize savings opportunities, and evaluate the cost effectiveness of new engineering initiatives.
Use Datadog, BI visualization tools, SQL, and spreadsheet wizardry to build cost models and discover meaningful insights about cloud usage.
Explore new/unfamiliar cost areas, toolsets, and visualizations to raise the bar on how well our team serves our customers.
You are
You have at least 1 year of experience analyzing and optimizing cloud spend at a large scale.
You understand the major cloud providers' product offerings and how engineers use them, with experience in either AWS, GCP, or Azure.
You have excellent communication skills and demonstrated experience in partnering with clients.
You can speak the language of both Engineering and Finance.
