Finance Associate
About The Position:
Based in Mexico, as a Finance Associate, you will be part of the Regional Accounting Team. Your main responsibilities will include maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, execution of month-end close activities for multiple G-P entities and support of new service lines and enhanced financial processes.
What You Will Do:
Prepare statutory financial reports, tax and other compliance filings required by local authorities, with assistance from local service providers where required
Local country month-end close process, including financial statement reconciliations, journal entries, balance sheet analysis and performance variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior months
Maintain an overview of accounting differences between consolidated reporting and statutory accounting requirements and records
Review monthly payroll changes collated by our financial operations team, and request funding from Funding/Client hubs
Manage the cash flow activities that result from payroll, expense and other intercompany funding flows with the US as well as international GP client hubs
Assist the Operations and other GP teams with ad-hoc requests relating to onboarding, offboarding and process exceptions such as late payroll changes
Assist in bringing new entities / countries into our scope, liaising with local service providers, GP teams and HQ to draft work scope, negotiate processes and commence finance and payroll activities
Assist other members of the accounting and finance team at HQ when needed
Assist with the set-up of any new services lines such as international client operations
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related area essential
Qualified / Certified Accounting status or equivalent is preferred
2-5 years’ experience in progressive accounting-based or general ledger roles
Experience in handling full set of account including drafting of statutory financial reports
Experience in LATAM accounting and tax compliance rule is essential
Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables, v and h lookups, and complex formula writing)
Excellent oral and written English and Spanish language skills
High-energetic attitude; someone who enjoys working with a team and can overcome challenges faced by process exceptions
Strong attention to detail
