  • HYBRID – If you reside within 50 miles of Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL this role is hybrid, requiring office presence three days a week (Tue, Wed, Thu), with the rest of the workweek spent working from home.

  • REMOTE – If you live over 50 miles from Adtalem offices in Chicago, IL, Addison, IL, Columbia, MD, Minneapolis, MN, and Miramar, FL, this role is remote. However, occasional office visits may be required based on business needs, with advance communication for such requests.

Job Description

The Coordinator, Field Experience is a full-time staff member and will focus on coordinating student field experience progress and development. The coordinator will report to the Associate Dean of Applied Practice and Continuing Education and work closely with academic leadership, faculty, program directors, academic advising, and preceptors.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will join a dynamic team and be centrally involved in supporting students in preparing and applying for their field experience for the Master of Public Health or Doctor of Public Health program.

  • Coordinate with the Associate Dean of Applied Practice and Continuing Education to assist all graduate students who require field experience.

  • Uphold the standards developed for field experience.

  • Manage and organize the quarterly field experience application review process.

  • Screen faculty and student concerns based on level of intervention required.

  • Coordinate completion of field experience application materials, affiliation agreements, professional liability insurance documentation, and learning agreements.

  • Communicate with students, faculty, staff, preceptors, and other stakeholders via email, a CRM platform, and phone.

  • Coordinate registration process for applied practice courses.  

  • Assist students in resolving problems arising out of field experience.

  • Coordinate with faculty to remediate low level issues.

  • Direct faculty and preceptors as needed for low level concerns.

  • Coordinate with the Associate Dean of Applied Practice and Continuing Education for moderate-high concern levels.

  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Applied Practice and Continuing Education to assist students with finding a field placement site.

  • Monitor the implementation of policies and procedures related to field experience and determine expectations to them.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Comply with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree From an accredited university, preferably MPH, MA, MAT, MSED, or M.ED (Required).

  • 1 year experience supervising students in their field training experience (Preferred).

  • Experience with student support (Preferred).

  • Experience working with providing academic counseling and advising (Preferred).

  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and leveraging technology in learning (Preferred).

  • Experience with engaging with field sites and preceptors (Preferred).

  • Ability to manage high volume activities with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to assume a significant role in addressing student questions and concerns about preparing and applying for field experience.

  • Commitment to the goals of diversity and social change.

  • Ability to work with non-traditional students.

Additional Information

In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $18.15 and $32.86. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
