As a pivotal leader within EDB’s Office of the CTO, the Field CTO is a trailblazer in leveraging EDB data technology to drive digital business transformation. This role demands a profound understanding of EDB's technology stack, including databases, management and integration tools, migration capabilities, and cutting-edge analytics and AI applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Guide both customers and internal teams through the exploration of advanced digital transformation possibilities using analytics and AI. Collaborate closely with sales teams to uncover and drive revenue opportunities throughout all stages of the customer engagement cycle.
Innovation and Evangelism: Maintain a prominent presence within and beyond EDB by publishing insightful content, delivering compelling talks at industry conferences, and actively participating in relevant open source and professional communities.
Technical and Business Acumen: Apply a deep knowledge of business processes and analytics to align technology strategies with executive-level business goals. Advise customers on strategic tech decisions during the development of new applications, modernizations, migrations, and cloud replat forming.
Ecosystem Awareness: Possesses expert knowledge in contemporary deployment models such as Kubernetes, containers, virtual machines, Ansible, and hybrid cloud environments. This role emphasizes the integration of advanced analytics and artificial intelligence to optimize these technologies for designing mission-critical, data-driven applications.
Qualifications:
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in designing, developing, and deploying data-intensive solutions, with a strong focus on enterprise-grade databases and analytics.
At least 5 years in a consultative or professional services role, ideally with hands-on experience in AI and data analytics.
Demonstrated ability in thought leadership, including blogging and public speaking on the convergence of technology, analytics, and business.
Previous involvement with open source communities; contributions to AI and analytics projects are highly regarded.
Proven experience in navigating the complexities of a rapidly expanding global business.
Exceptional communication skills, adept in both technical advisories and strategic business discussions.
Willingness to travel 25% of the time, including international trips.
Prior experience in the government sector is highly desirable, especially involving projects at the intersection of technology and analytics.
