The Community you will join: This role will support the evolution of the Workspaces team by researching forward-thinking strategies to evolve the employee experience, with a specific focus on Workplace tools and technology.  The role will include researching, testing, and project managing the implementation of innovative digital workplace applications and technologies in support of a new flexible way of working, as aligned with the broader digital EX strategy.

This role is cross-functional in nature and will require a strong partnership across Airbnb’s central function teams, including Workplace Experience, Safety & Security, Talent, BizTech, Mobility, Real Estate, and Environments. The ideal candidate will be able to build strong relationships at all levels of the company, and to interpret the company's priorities and values into actionable solutions that align the workplace environment and work practices with the workspace team’s goals and objectives.

The difference you will make:

In this role, it is important to have an intermediate level of understanding of various back-end technical requirements to implementing new programs.   It is also important in this role to be able to see the big picture as you will have to envision a long term strategy, define the projects to achieve that strategy from start to finish, and execute on them.  It is critical for this person to be familiar with industry technology trends, how technology works, and to know how our tools will work together to meet the needs of both the internal team and the external experience. We are looking for someone who is excited, curious, and feels empowered by future working concepts and someone who is an impeccable collaborator who can easily work across a significant number of stakeholders. A typical day:

  • Research, test, and project manage the implementation of innovative digital workplace applications and strategies to support future working concepts that will allow us to enhance the employee experience, across offices and remote working environments.

    • Identify gaps and areas for improvement in existing workspace related tools & technologies and recommend improvements (including ticketing, VMS, space management, etc.)

    • Work closely with various Workspace team partners, including the EX Tools & Technology team, to design and project manage the implementation of a seamless integration of existing and new workplace tools & technologies to deliver a more holistic workplace experience, considering the ongoing evolution in how and where we work.

    • Work side by side with BizTech to support the implementation and delivery of any new workspace technologies in a way that is consistent with the BizTech and  EX Tools & Technology roadmap.

  • Maintain an active awareness of global workplace trends, innovations and opportunities, and regularly report on findings.

    • Lead the collection and regular reporting on benchmarking efforts as it relates to our peer companies and their approach to various office workplace & remote working strategies to ensure we are designing with industry best practices in mind.

  • Partner with our Workplace Program & Project Specialists to develop and track metrics to monitor progress, usage, and employee satisfaction of the office experience.

  • Lead or support other ongoing programs and special projects in support of our team’s objectives, such as:

    • Development of change management strategies

    • Project management of various alignment and collaboration improvement needs across the Workplace, Safety & Security, Real Estate, BizTech, and Environments teams

    • Other cross-functional initiatives as they come up

Your expertise:

  • 8+ years program or project management experience, ideally in technology

  • Minimum 3 years working in a role with global responsibility and taking a global perspective into account when approaching your work

  • Possesses proven experience in multiple digital workplace technologies; has an intermediate level of understanding of various back-end technical requirements

  • Experience working in large global organizations with complex technical environments.

  • Digital dexterity; able to leverage and quickly reskill on digital technology as it evolves.

  • Proven track record of establishing relationships, influencing and negotiating competing priorities with both internal and external partners

  • Exhibit strong analytical, conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills

  • Requires someone with superior written and oral communication skills; including briefing/training skills, and the ability to have executive presence while also being someone that excels at sitting back and listening.

  • A positive attitude and hunger for learning and growth

  • Creative and entrepreneurial

  • Demonstrated commitment to Airbnb’s core values
