ERP & Business Apps - SAP OTC/TM Manager
Job Summary
The SAP OTC/TM Manager will lead all aspects of the Order-to-Cash (OTC) and Transportation Management (TM) domains within the SAP S/4HANA landscape. This role requires a hands-on leader who takes full ownership of project delivery, system integrity, testing governance, and cross-functional collaboration across business, IT, and system integrator (SI) teams.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong accountability, proactiveness, and end-to-end project leadership, ensuring delivery excellence beyond SAP boundaries. The manager will act as the primary bridge between SI teams (onshore/offshore), internal SAP and non-SAP teams, and business stakeholders—driving alignment, quality, and timely outcomes across multiple initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Ownership:
Act as the primary point of contact and leader for all OTC and TM initiatives, accountable for business requirements, project execution, testing, and delivery.
Take full ownership of the functional and technical delivery from design through deployment, ensuring quality, completeness, and adherence to timelines.
Proactively engage with SI partners and business users to clarify requirements, identify risks, and resolve issues before they escalate.
Lead end-to-end System Integration Testing (SIT) — define scope, validate business scenarios, ensure adequate test coverage, and monitor execution and defect resolution.
Ensure clear accountability of SI team members (onshore/offshore): track who is delivering what, monitor productivity, and ensure efficient use of resources.
Provide ongoing direction to internal and external teams, ensuring project progress, issue resolution, and proper documentation.
Governance & Quality Assurance:
Establish and enforce strong quality gates — review functional specifications, configuration, and custom code prior to migration to QA or Production environments.
Implement structured code review and configuration validation processes to prevent defects and ensure compliance with design standards.
Oversee transport governance and ensure all changes follow documented approval and review workflows.
Drive continuous improvement through post-mortem analysis and lessons-learned reviews.
Project Management & Delivery:
Lead and manage multiple projects concurrently, balancing scope, resources, and delivery timelines.
Develop and oversee comprehensive project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, RAID logs, and delivery milestones.
Work closely with cross-functional teams (Logistics, Finance, Order Management, IT Infrastructure, Security, Cloud Ops) to ensure seamless execution and integration.
Ensure on-time, in-scope delivery of solutions that meet business objectives and operational excellence standards.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the key liaison between SI partners, business stakeholders, and internal IT teams, promoting transparency, accountability, and timely communication.
Foster strong relationships with internal teams (LandOps, ProdOps, Finance, Global Logistics, Planning) and external vendors to ensure alignment of goals and outcomes.
Partner with business leaders to understand end-to-end processes and ensure SAP solutions effectively support operational goals.
Lead stakeholder meetings to communicate status, risks, dependencies, and next steps.
Functional Expertise:
Provide subject matter expertise in SAP S/4 OTC and TM including Sales & Distribution, freight order management, freight cost settlement, delivery processing, export logistics, and integration with WMS, Finance, and Procurement.
Manage configuration and customization across TM components (Freight Units, Freight Orders, Cockpit, Optimization, DSD, Route Planning, BN4L, P.44, and SMC3).
Ensure compliance with SOD, audit, and trade regulations in all system configurations.
Stay current with latest SAP innovations (e.g., BTP, CPI, Cloud ALM, BRF+) and recommend relevant adoption strategies.
Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:
Demonstrates strong ownership mindset — treats projects as accountable deliverables, not tasks delegated to SI partners.
Proactively drives progress by asking the right questions, identifying risks early, and ensuring all stakeholders are engaged.
Maintains end-to-end visibility across SAP and non-SAP components, ensuring seamless business process delivery.
Balances strategic thinking with hands-on execution, ensuring every change aligns with business outcomes.
Exhibits leadership presence with both technical and business teams, instilling confidence and ensuring accountability.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in SAP OTC/TM within S/4HANA environments, preferably with Big 4 consulting or enterprise implementation background.
Proven leadership experience managing global SAP projects in high-volume ecommerce or logistics-driven industries.
Strong understanding of OTC and TM process integration across tax, pricing, rebates, logistics, WMS, and finance.
Experience managing SI delivery (onshore/offshore), including SLA adherence, scope control, and governance.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
Professional certifications such as PMP, CPIM, SAP S/4HANA Functional Certification preferred.
Success Criteria:
Demonstrates visible ownership and proactive engagement on all assigned initiatives.
Ensures SIT and UAT are executed with well-defined end-to-end business scenarios and full traceability.
