What we’re looking for

As an Engineering Manager at Massive Rocket, you will orchestrate the talents of software engineers, QA experts, and DevOps practitioners into a symphony of technological achievement. In this pivotal role, you will set the rhythm for our tech teams by establishing rigorous standards, enhancing existing practices, and steering the adoption of cutting-edge tools and technologies. Your leadership will ensure our projects not only align with but propel our strategic business goals forward. Beyond managerial duties, you remain engaged with the hands-on technical pulse of the team, ensuring a seamless fusion of innovation and precision across all endeavors. Your guidance will be the catalyst that empowers our teams to transcend ordinary boundaries and deliver extraordinary results in our vibrant tech ecosystem.

Responsibilities

β€’ Lead technical strategy and innovation

β€’ Develop and enforce engineering standards

β€’ Oversee internal delivery initiatives related to engineering and technologies

β€’ Facilitate continuous learning and development for team members

β€’ Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment

β€’ Support sales activities including proposals and discovery sessions

β€’ Conduct performance reviews and set career goals

β€’ Ensure quality assurance and control

β€’ Engage with stakeholders to align technology and business goals

β€’ Manage and develop up to three engineering teams

Experience

β€’ Minimum 7-10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role.

β€’ Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams of software engineers, QA professionals, and DevOps engineers.

β€’ Experience with overseeing the development, delivery, and maintenance of large-scale software projects.

β€’ Experience working in an agency setting, dealing with client services in delivery and consulting.

β€’ Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and project portfolios in a consultancy or agency environment.

β€’ Demonstrated capability in supporting sales activities, including crafting proposals, leading discovery sessions, and presenting technical pitches to clients.

Skills:

β€’ Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team.

β€’ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage team dynamics, engage with stakeholders across various levels, and maintain strong client relationships.

β€’ Proficient in strategic planning and project management, with a keen ability to set clear priorities and deliverables.

β€’ Expertise in adopting and implementing new technologies and engineering practices.

β€’ Capability to drive continuous learning and improvement within teams.

Expertise:

β€’ Deep understanding of software development processes, including Agile methodologies.

β€’ Knowledge of quality assurance practices and standards to ensure software reliability and compliance.

β€’ Familiarity with the latest in engineering tools, technologies, and trends.

β€’ Adept in risk management and problem-solving strategies.
