The Ads Safety and Verification team is responsible for Ad Review, Ad Brand Safety, and third-party measurement systems at Reddit. We ensure that ads shown on Reddit comply with policies and prioritize consumer safety. Our team also ensures that the content neighboring the ads is brand safe by leveraging both internal and external systems. Additionally, we ensure there is third-party measurability for view-ability and safety. Collaboration with internal and external classification systems is key as we build the right systems to scale.

Role Overview: We are seeking an Engineering Manager to build and enhance Reddit's Ad Review, Brand Safety, and Measurement systems. This role offers a high impact on both advertisers and consumers by building the next generation of Ad Review systems.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product managers, classification teams, and PMMs to iterate on the next generation of Ad Review and Brand Safety features.

• Maintain and enhance the team's culture of fast-moving, high-quality product delivery and iteration.

• Ensure the long-term success of both product and people growth.

• Participate in and be the ultimate owner of the full development cycle: product ideation, design, development, QA, experimentation, analysis, and launch.

• Brainstorm, provide feedback on design docs, product specs, and mocks, and generally help out wherever needed.

• Utilize data-driven/informed decision-making processes.

• Build and expand a team of backend and pipeline engineers. Be nimble in this fast-moving space.

Qualifications 

Required 

• 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer

• Experience building reliable systems that scale

• Leadership experience with working across other teams to achieve success

• You're technical, enough to solve almost any problem your team has yourself, but you prefer to guide your team into solving them

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must be able to collaborate effectively with teams in a fully-remote environment and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences

• Strong leadership skills and ability to foster team culture

Preferred 

• Knowledge of ads systems, social products or security.

• Experience working with and growing senior & staff engineer.

• Passionate about building healthy and highly productive teams and collaborating with XFN stakeholders (PM, PMM, DS, Sales etc)
