The Infrastructure Org is currently looking for an experienced Engineering Lead or hands on Engineering Manager to head our Edge team. Infra Edge team is responsible for developing and operating HubSpot’s load balancing and CDN infrastructure. Our systems are used by ~200 internal engineering teams and serve billions of requests from over 200,000 customers in more than 100 countries daily. They are paramount to HubSpot’s continued success and the success of our customers. About the Role
As an Engineering Lead, you will lead a team of 6+ engineers. We are looking for a skilled, passionate, and empathetic leader who is deeply connected to the technical details and thrives on building large-scale, highly performant distributed systems in a collaborative manner. You will balance your time between hands-on technical contributions (~50-60%) and technical/people leadership. Your responsibilities include:
Guiding the design, development, and operation of systems and system components, including hands-on code contributions.
People management, including hiring, promotions, and performance management.
Technical mentorship and coaching for growth.
Teams in HubSpot are intentionally kept small and nimble to maximize ownership, eliminate scale challenges and communication overhead. This means less time in meetings and more time working on technical challenges even as engineers and managers progress in their careers.
For this position, we are looking for:
An Engineering Lead or Engineering Manager with at least 2 years of experience in role, including hiring, developing and promoting engineers..
A track record of of delivering complex, performant, reliable and scalable distributed systems and/or infrastructure in a Cloud environment (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP) from design to large-scale operations.
Proficiency in Java, C#, Go, C++, or Rust, with Java preferred.
Experience with CDNs (e.g., Cloudflare, CloudFront), Load Balancers (e.g., NGINX, Envoy) and Service Mesh is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and experience working across multiple teams.
An understanding of how to foster Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging.
The ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables. Experience in building company internal platforms and collaborating with feature teams is a plus.

The cash compensation below includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
