The Job

The function serves as the primary liaison between employees and the organization, fostering positive relationships and addressing concerns within the region. The ERM collaborates closely with HR Business Partners to coordinate activities related to business changes and compliance within their respective region, while also being responsible for the HR policies related to compliance matters. 

Furthermore, they provide managerial training on a range of HR compliance topics. This function collaborates closely with the HR Operations team to ensure that ERM activities receive transactional execution throughout the HR and employee lifecycle along functional reporting lines.

We're hiring in Central and South American countries for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the primary liaison between employees and the organization within the respective region, coordinating regional operations while upholding compliance standards and fostering positive employee relations.
  • Providing thorough guidance and give direction to compliance and comp & ben topics, including employment laws, regulations and People policies, to HR Business Partners, managers, and employees.
  • Working closely with HR Business Partners overseeing the effects of business changes in the region and act as a strategic partner when implementation is required at the level of the Employee Relations Manager.
  • Provide guidance and counselling to managers and employees specifically on sick leave and termination processes and leverage the support of the People Operations team to ensure adherence to procedures and regulations that apply to these (individual) cases.
  • Conduct investigations into complex employee relations issues, and ensure adherence to regional procedures and regulations, maintaining confidentiality and impartiality.
  • Work closely with the People Operations team to support transactional activities throughout the People and employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and data management.
  • Collaborate with the other Employee Relations Managers, maintain the Compliance Framework and share best practices and drive consistency in People initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze employee relations metrics and trends, identifying areas for improvement and developing proactive strategies.
  • Partner with People COEs to coordinate both companywide and region-specific HR programs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions to managers on various People compliance topics and employee relations (sick leave, terminations etc.) to enhance understanding and adherence to People policies.
  • Drive and/or participate in strategic HR projects aimed at enhancing employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.

About you

  • You have experience with LATAM labour laws 3+ years (experience in Honduras and/or Argentina, experience with labour laws in Mexico is a plus)
  • You're fluent in both English and Spanish.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Advantageous to have 4+ years of employee relations experience.
  • Strong experience in partnering with various key stakeholders and being an effective team player.
  • Demonstrated strong understanding of the European, Middle East and Africa employment law and regulatory frameworks.
  • Demonstrated policy and procedure development and enforcement to ensure compliance
    Proven experience in employee relations or a similar HR role.
  • Worked in a fast-paced organization (and experience in preferably tech or BPO industry), 
    where change is the norm.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities and abilities to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Technical requirements

  • A minimum internet speed of 15 Mb/s download and 15 Mb/s upload with Latency <120 ms, internationally
  • A minimum of 8 GB RAM
  • Windows 11 (All editions except Windows S Mode), or macOS 13.0 or newer
  • A processor with a CPU Mark of at least 7368 or higher, similar to i5-8300H (Has to be 8th Gen Intel or above, if Ryzen, 2nd Gen or above)
