Email Developer & Designer

​​About the Role:

We are looking for an Email Developer & Designer Contractor to join our storefront design team. You will work closely alongside Design, CRM, and Product Management to design, develop, and maintain the emails that make up our full suite, including promotional, lifecycle, and transactional communications. We’re looking for someone who’s excitement to design beautiful, user-focused emails is matched by their excitement to hand-code their designs in custom HTML/CSS that is fully responsive across devices and renders across email clients. This person is highly collaborative and enjoys assisting with projects in addition to owning their own. This role will work alongside our Sr. Email Developer & Designer to help in executing emails from brief to deployment.

You Will:

• Partner with the Sr. Email Developer & Designer to design and develop email templates across all product categories and user lifecycle stages

• Maintain emails by making edits to existing and new templates as they move through stakeholder feedback rounds

• Refine code to dynamically display email designs beautifully across all devices and clients

• Execute operational tasks related to the email review process including organizing and submitting templates to stakeholders and responding to feedback

You Have:

• 4+ years of experience designing and coding emails

• Fluent in email HTML/CSS

• Ability to code fully responsive emails using media queries that render correctly across all devices

• Ability to code emails that display correctly across all email clients, including Outlook

• Experience designing a variety of different types of email templates, including promotional and transactional

• Experience designing in adherence to a design system and modular HTML/CSS library

• Experience designing with Figma and Photoshop

• Understanding of dark mode design and development optimization 

• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate an email design into code with pixel perfection

• Thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy assisting with all stages in the brief to deployment workflow process of email creation

This is a 9-month independent contractor position. The anticipated compensation for this role will be between $2300 and $2900 per week. These fees are subject to adjustment based on a range of factors including skill set, experience and training, and geographic location.
