THE TEAM 

At Eventbrite, our dynamic global communications team plays a pivotal role in effectively shaping and sharing our story. We are a diverse group of media strategists, former journalists, creative minds, data enthusiasts, and impactful storytellers committed to echoing Eventbrite's missions and values. 

THE ROLE

Eventbrite is looking for an Editorial Data Analyst to join our Communications team as the go-to data expert. In this role, you'll uncover and analyze data that reflects broader cultural trends, while also identifying emerging trends within our platform. These insights will help shape stories that position Eventbrite as a leader in live experiences, strengthen our media presence, and guide our broader company strategy and initiatives.

In addition to handling data requests, you'll also assist with media inquiries and provide valuable insights for newsroom content, trend reports, and other editorial assets. Your contributions will be essential in unlocking compelling data-driven opportunities that keep Eventbrite at the forefront of the cultural zeitgeist, reinforcing our role as a trends authority and shaping our overall strategic direction. Reporting to the Senior Director of Consumer & Product Communications, this full time role is remote. 

YOU WILL

  • Create comprehensive SQL queries to gather and analyze data in support of the communications team's needs 

  • Identify and analyze compelling data points to enhance our storytelling and support key initiatives 

  • Partner with the data analytics and communications teams to create user-friendly dashboards that allow us to easily access and pull data as needed

  • Provide data insights that contribute to materials such as press releases, trend reports, story pitches, messaging briefs, talking points, etc

  • Complete data assignments on time and present results clearly, focusing on relevance and newsworthiness

  • Translate data into easy-to-understand reports and visualizations for various audiences

  • Proactively monitor our platform data to uncover niche trends and identify areas where Eventbrite can establish thought leadership

  • Streamline the data sourcing process to enable more efficient data retrieval and analysis

  • Develop streamlined process to distribute valuable data and insights across teams

  • Collaborate closely with the data and insights team to ensure alignment and maximize impact across communications efforts

THE SKILL SET

  • Data Experience: You have 3-5 years of professional experience in data or related fields, with a proven ability to draw actionable insights from large datasets.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in SQL and familiarity with tools like Tableau.

  • Expert Interpreter: Skilled at turning complex data into clear, concise bullet points and storylines for non-technical audiences.

  • Team Player: You build and nurture strong relationships with colleagues, and you excel at being a supportive and reliable partner in cross-functional efforts. 

  • Adaptable: Eventbrite moves fast! You can pivot quickly and thrive in a dynamic environment.  

  • Agile Project Manager: Skilled at juggling multiple projects and requests while ensuring everything stays on track in a dynamic setting.

BONUS POINTS

  • Experience at a start-up and/or global organization

  • Knowledge of the live experiences industry
