Title: Distributed Analyst (fully work-from-home role) Core Function Operations System Operator Analyst provides support to the computer operators and customers on complex problems and change activities. Participate with account transitions and de-transitions. Ability to recommend, create and implement new processes and procedures to improve business methods and practices. Technical expert within the area of expertise. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of IBM AS400 (iSeries), AIX, and UNIX Systems

  • Participate in transition and de-transition of customer accounts and Disaster Recovery

  • Knowledge of how to use a Job Scheduler

  • Manage incidents via multiple problem / change management systems to include ServiceNow, ISM, Maximo, and Remedy.

  • Familiarity with batch monitoring systems control-M, Tidal, Netcool, and other monitoring tools dependent on customer requirements.

  • Manage applications in Windows and Unix environments.

  • Problem determination and resolution skills on multiple platforms and applications.

  • Knowledge / experience of Operating Systems: Red Hat Linux, Windows, PCAnywhere, Putty,and Open Text Socks Client.

  • Create and maintain system backup processes for iSERIES / AS400

  • Create and maintain programs for archiving data to media, run file reorganizations and clean-up of logs

  • Create and maintain checklists and processes & procedures for console ops

  • Monitor system for disk space, CPU activity, message queues

  • Order and/or download PTFs, APARs for system maintenance

  • Prepare for and execute system migrations, operating system upgrades, hardware and software additions and removal. Maintenance and backup of system HMC

  • Attend Change and Problem meetings and execute reporting

  • Participate in RCAs (Root Cause Analysis).

  • Assist with overseeing day-to-day activities of Operations staff members.

  • Assist with onboarding and training of new employees to include assisting with completing required forms, ID creations, workspace and workstation assignment.

  • Assist with scheduling team and ensuring adequate coverage during vacations, sick time, and any change activities that may require additional support.

  • Read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; Learn and apply new skills and information.

  • Perform highly detailed work on multiple, concurrent tasks; and interact with Getronics employees, Clients and Vendors.

  • Enjoys Working in a Fast-paced Environment.

  • Must possess basic inter-personal relationship skills.

  • Must possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
