Overview:
First Citizens Capital Equipment Finance is a leading provider of large-ticket equipment financing solutions. Working directly with middle market and large cap businesses, the unit specializes in providing equipment loans and leases with flexible terms and rates tailored to the equipment and credit strength of the borrower.
- The Director, Underwriting CEF (Capital Equipment Finance) is responsible for the underwriting, closing and portfolio management activities related to Capital Equipment Finance ('CEF') Underwriting. Actively engaged in initial transaction screening process, ongoing overall portfolio performance and credit related projects.
- Strategically reviews and analyzes processes to optimize production activities and recommends policy and procedure changes as appropriate to achieve business efficiencies.
- The position requires a candidate to have very strong credit and analytical skills, who can multi-task and work in a high-paced team environment.
- Must Interact effectively with Originators and have good verbal communication skills.
- Assists senior leadership with portfolio reporting, risk identification and mitigation. Actively engaged in portfolio modifications, restructurings and workouts as needed.
- Ensures that transactions meet credit quality standards, lending targets, and investment guideline requirements are met.
- Actively manages the underwriting and closing process with internal counterparts and outside firms.
- Quality Control - Ensures compliance with department policies and procedures, standards, and quality production needs. Monitors performance metrics, communicating results as necessary to senior leadership, and implements methods to improve performance.
- Capture and document credit decisions, conditions, and modifications to meet client needs as well as balance the internal risk/return requirements.
- Works closely with team to develop behaviors that improve service and business decisions. Offers guidance on creating strong lending relationships and on methods that improve customer experience.
- Ability to travel for customer meetings and conferences.
- Equipment finance knowledge across a wide range of industries, asset classes and obligor types required with solid documentation skills and the ability to lead transaction from cradle to grave.
The base pay for this position is relative to your experience but the range is generally $200,000 to $200,000 per year. This position is eligible for variable compensation, which may be in the form of incentive, bonus, or commission pay. Qualifications:Required
- Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve-month analysis.
- Management OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Commercial Lending or Credit Analysis, financial statement spreading, preparation of projections, and trailing twelve-month analysis. Management
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree or MBA in Business, Finance, Economics
- Experience Banking, Finance
- Skill(s): Completion of a formal credit training program
- BA or MBA
- Prior leadership/management experience preferred but not required.
- Prior problem loan management/workout experience a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Office Skills required to include Excel and Power Point.
- Moody’s Credit Lens experience a plus.
