We are seeking an experienced and innovative professional to join our team as Director of Technology Sourcing for Cloud Services. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and executing our multi-cloud procurement strategy, with a primary focus on Amazon Web Services (AWS) while leveraging experience with other major cloud providers. This role will report directly to the Global Head of Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Management and will play a crucial part in optimizing our cloud strategy and spend across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical knowledge of cloud services, strategic thinking, and strong negotiation skills to drive value and innovation in our cloud operations.

 

What you'll do:

  • Lead enterprise-level contract and pricing negotiations with AWS and other cloud service providers

  • Develop and execute comprehensive multi-cloud strategic sourcing plans, with emphasis on Amazon Web Services EC2 and S3 services

  • Analyze cloud usage patterns and spending across platforms to identify cost optimization opportunities

  • Collaborate with engineering, finance, and executive teams to forecast cloud needs, align budgets, and drive strategic decision-making

  • Evaluate and recommend alternative cloud providers, technologies, and services to drive innovation and efficiency

  • Implement cloud cost management tools and processes, including FinOps best practices

  • Provide regular reporting on cloud spend, savings, and KPIs to executive leadership

  • Manage executive-level partnerships between our company and cloud service providers

  • Align cloud spend and forecast across engineering organizations

  • Partner with engineering teams to leverage cloud service provider roadmaps and facilitate new technology evaluation and implementation

  • Provide strategic guidance on cloud adoption and migration strategies

  • Develop and manage KPIs in partnership with Supplier Relationship Management team to measure and monitor supplier performance

  • Stay current with cloud contracting trends, emerging licensing models, and industry best practices

 

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or related field; MBA preferred

  • 10 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with at least 5 years focused on cloud services

  • Deep expertise in AWS services, particularly EC2 and S3, with working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform and Azure

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale technology contracts ($100M+)

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, architectures, and pricing

  • Experience implementing FinOps practices and cloud cost optimization strategies

  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills

  • Ability to influence and collaborate with C-level executives and technical leaders

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multi-cloud certification (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Google Cloud Certified, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals)

  • Experience working in a high-growth technology company

  • Background in software engineering or IT infrastructure

  • Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools
