The Director of Strategy & Business Development will help shape the future growth of MyFitnessPal, by leading key strategic projects that help drive against our company vision, exploring future revenue opportunities, and developing partnerships that help accelerate our business forward. What you’ll be doing: 

  • Work to accelerate MyFitnessPal’s weight loss strategy and bring identified innovation opportunities from discovery to proof of concept (POC)

  • Identify gaps in the market, emerging trends and spot opportunities that have potential to impact MyFitnessPal revenue

  • Develop strategic, financial, and operational feasibility cases to support investment in new growth opportunities

  • Structure and solve business problems, collaborating and coordinating with internal stakeholders to make recommendations on a wide range of business issues

  • Design plans that demonstrate proof of concept, work with external partners and/or outside developers to implement, while also addressing key risks or realizing fast failure

  • Drive strategic partnerships that help scale initiatives after proof of concept has been demonstrated

  • Define and manage multiple, complex strategic projects towards high quality deliverables and timelines

  • Build relationship capital with key leaders and project stakeholders throughout the organization, effectively navigate processes to lead, influence and reach consensus with or without formal authority or direct people management responsibilities

Qualifications to be successful in this role: 

  • 7+ years total experience with 3+ years of post-graduate experience in management consulting or corporate strategy preferred

  • Ability to independently lead and manage projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems

  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills, with demonstrated intellectual and analytical rigor, attention to detail and ability to structure and analyze sophisticated financial modeling

  • Personal presence and ability to clearly communicate compelling messages to senior managers and external business partners

  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration and leadership skills to influence and build credibility as a peer with functional leaders

  • Self-starter, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent spreadsheet and presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities

  • You are biased for action, relentless about driving and owning the goal and you are motivated by the responsibility of delivering the most crucial capabilities for long term marketplace growth

  • You are a leader that can thrive in a fast paced, rapidly growing, highly ambiguous, and challenging environment in the nutrition and weight loss industry

  • Proven experience developing and managing successful partnerships

  • Project management leadership experience

  • 15-25% travel required

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $158,000 - $200,000. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, MyFitnessPal offers a wide range of comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, parental planning, mental health benefits, annual performance bonus, a 401(k) plan and match, responsible time off, monthly wellness and technology allowances, and others.
