OVERVIEW

The Director of North American Sales will lead and develop our sales operations across the North American region. Reporting directly to the Global Vice President of Sales, this role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record in sales leadership, team management, and achieving revenue goals. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the North American market dynamics, industry trends, and customer needs.

 

THE ROLE

  • Sales Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop and execute the overall sales strategy for North America aligned with company objectives.

    • Define sales targets and objectives for the region and ensure they are achieved or exceeded.

    • Identify growth opportunities and market trends to capitalize on.

  • Team Leadership and Development:

    • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing sales team across multiple locations in North America.

    • Provide coaching, guidance, and professional development opportunities to sales managers.

    • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the sales organization.

  • Customer Relationship Management:

    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners.

    • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales strategies with market needs and product offerings.

    • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction and retention rates across the region.

  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Monitor sales performance metrics, KPIs, and financial targets regularly.

    • Prepare and present detailed sales reports and forecasts to senior management.

    • Implement corrective actions and strategies as needed to achieve sales goals.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with other departments such as marketing, operations, and finance to ensure alignment and support for sales initiatives.

    • Contribute to overall company strategy and participate in leadership meetings and decision-making processes.

 

THE SKILLSET

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data to drive decisions and strategies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing sales teams and achieving revenue targets in the North American market.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in event or marketplace sales is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated leadership in driving sales transformation and change management initiatives is a plus.

Location: This position is remote but could include travel periodically.
