The Director, Marketing Programs is responsible for developing and leading Optiv's enterprise marketing programs and events strategy, overseeing a comprehensive portfolio of corporate, national, regional, partner, client, and internal events that support revenue growth, market differentiation, client engagement, and brand visibility. This role provides strategic direction across integrated marketing programs and curated experiences while driving alignment among Marketing, Sales, Services, GTM, Partner Alliances, executive leadership, and external stakeholders.  

The Director establishes the vision, governance, investment strategy, and performance standards for Optiv's full events portfolio. This leader ensures programs deliver measurable business outcomes, strengthen partner relationships, accelerate pipeline creation and conversion, and enhance Optiv's market presence. The role oversees a team of marketing professionals, external agencies, and contractors and manages multi-million-dollar budgets, sponsorship investments, and partner funding opportunities. The role is also responsible for MDF generation in connection with the events portfolio. 

How you'll make an impact 

  • Establish and lead Optiv's enterprise marketing programs and events strategy in alignment with corporate growth objectives, go-to-market priorities, national campaigns, regional business needs, and brand initiatives. 
  • Own Optiv's full events portfolio, including corporate, national, regional, partner-sponsored, client, executive engagement, industry, internal employee, and corporate social responsibility events and experiences. Own all event prospectus motions. 
  • Develop a multi-year roadmap for marketing programs and events that drives pipeline growth, customer engagement, partner alignment, and market differentiation. 
  • Establish portfolio governance, prioritization, investment criteria, operating standards, and measurement frameworks to maximize business impact and return on investment. 
  • Ensure consistent brand experience, operational excellence, and measurable outcomes across event types, audiences, and geographies. 
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior and executive leaders, including the CMO, CRO, Sales, Services, and Partner Alliances leadership, on program strategy, audience engagement, and investment decisions. 
  • Lead the planning, execution, and measurement of integrated corporate, national, and regional marketing programs that support solution priorities, industry focuses, partner objectives, and revenue goals around all corporate marketing events (like OptivCons, industry conferences and partner end user conferences) and the regional marketing event portfolio, and other events as assigned. 
  • Design and deliver curated marketing experiences tied to national campaigns, corporate initiatives, regional growth opportunities, and partner-aligned activities. 
  • Partner with Demand Generation, Partner Marketing, Field Marketing, Brand and Communications, Creative, Digital Marketing, Content, and Marketing Operations to create coordinated customer journeys and scalable program strategies. 
  • Collaborate with Sales GTM leadership, Area Vice Presidents, and Regional Sales Directors to identify business needs and deliver programs that support pipeline development, acceleration, and conversion. 
  • Oversee event prospectus development, sponsorship packages, budget creation, contract negotiations, reconciliation, event recaps, and post-event performance reporting. 
  • Own strategic oversight of Optiv's company merchandise program, including budget, vendor relationships, product strategy, inventory, and internal support. 
  • Own the overall marketing program budget and MDF forecast. Partner closely with Partner Alliances on MDF generation, including other funding sources like DDF/PDF/BDF. 
  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships with OEM partners and alliance organizations to expand co-marketing opportunities and optimize Marketing Development Funds (MDF), Co-Op, and Business Development Funding (BDF). 
  • Lead the development of joint marketing plans that support key business initiatives, technology plays, solution priorities, and co-innovation opportunities. 
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to define event objectives, target audiences, desired outcomes, and high-impact customer and partner experiences. 
  • Develop executive roundtables, advisory forums, and industry-facing engagements that deepen relationships and generate actionable business insights. 
  • Provide strategic leadership and governance for key internal and corporate programs, including: 
  • Optiv Kick Off (OKO): Lead the planning committee and oversee program strategy, content, logistics, executive engagement, sponsorships, partner participation, budget, attendee experience, and post-event evaluation. 
  • Manage and optimize multi-million-dollar budgets across the enterprise events portfolio, marketing programs, internal events, sponsorships, and CSR initiatives. 
  • Establish key performance indicators and executive-level reporting that communicate program performance, engagement, pipeline contribution, sponsorship utilization, value delivery, and ROI. 
  • Analyze results and market insights to identify opportunities for portfolio optimization, resource reallocation, and continuous improvement. 
  • Evaluate and implement event technology, automation, and measurement capabilities that improve scalability, efficiency, attendee experience, and data quality. 
  • Lead agency, contractor, and vendor relationships, including selection, negotiations, performance management, and financial stewardship. 
  • Lead, mentor, train, and develop a high-performing team responsible for marketing programs, events, experiential marketing, and strategic initiatives. 
  • Establish clear organizational priorities, team goals, performance metrics, operating models, and standards that support consistent execution and excellence across the portfolio. 
  • Build team capability through coaching, performance management, career development, workforce planning, and succession planning. 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making. 
  • Oversee event agencies, contractors, consultants, and surge resources required to deliver the portfolio. 
  • Complies with all policies and standards  and performs other duties as assigned. 

What we're looking for 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field required; master's degree preferred. preferred or 
  • More than 10 Years progressive experience in event marketing, experiential marketing, field marketing, or marketing programs in a complex B2B environment. required  
  • 4-7 years Leading and developing high-performing teams, including remote or hybrid teams. required  
  • Demonstrated success overseeing large-scale enterprise event portfolios and integrated marketing programs with measurable business results. preferred  
  • Experience in the cybersecurity, technology, consulting, or professional services industry preferred. preferred  
  • Proven experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets, sponsorships, and partner-funded initiatives, including MDF, Co-Op, and BDF.  
  • Experience advising and partnering with senior and executive leaders and influencing decisions across a matrixed organization.  
  • Experience with marketing automation, CRM, financial, and event management platforms such as Marketo, Salesforce, NetSuite, Cvent, or similar tools.  
  • Strategic leadership, business acumen, and the ability to translate enterprise objectives into actionable programs and portfolio decisions.  
  • Expertise in event strategy, experiential marketing, integrated marketing programs, demand generation, pipeline measurement, and marketing attribution.  
  • Strong executive presence and exceptional communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.  
  • Strong financial, analytical, organizational, project management, and operational planning capabilities. 
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, manage competing priorities, and drive alignment across complex cross-functional initiatives.  
  • Ability to travel up to 25% for planning, site visits, corporate and industry events, executive engagement, and onsite event leadership.
