Join the team as Twilio’s next Director, Marketing Operations.

Who we are & why we’re hiring

Twilio powers real-time business communications and data solutions that help companies and developers worldwide build better applications and customer experiences.

Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we have presence throughout South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. We're on a journey to becoming a global company that actively opposes racism and all forms of oppression and bias. At Twilio, we support diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business.

About the job

This position is needed to build a standard of excellence with our marketing technology, data operations/privacy guidelines, and campaign processes.  We need a thought leader that will help establish a vision for how we optimize our tech stack and integrate across go-to-market functions.  We need an influencer to advocate for change across our marketing data strategy and execution.  This role is critical for cross-functional collaboration.  We need a ‘can-do’ attitude with the dynamic nature of our business requirements.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Define the Marketing Operations vision and strategy by building team goals and being accountable for them

  • Own all marketing operations functions including campaign operations, platform & data operations, project management, and lead routing

  • Lead and mentor a high performing marketing operations team as well as manage our external consultant relationships to serve the WW marketing team and their program needs

  • Drive the design, implementation, integration, and management of the Marketing Tech Stack including tool selection, evaluation, and vendor management

  • Own and influence “the Lead Factory”.  Provide input to optimize our machine learning scoring algorithms, work with SDR leadership and Analytics to inform routing decisions, and ensure there is no disruption to our lead flow

  • Embrace the “heart of marketing”.  Ensure data is properly collected and connected with other systems, find new ways to enrich the marketing data set, regularly cleanse data, and maintain best practices around marketing and data privacy

  • Develop best in class strategies to drive efficiencies and maximize resources across the team

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and strategy lead to manage critical relationships with Sales Operations, Sales Development, and our Marketing stakeholders

Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Required:

  • 10+ years of progressive Marketing Operations experience with a deep technical understanding of Marketo and knowledge of Salesforce

  • 4+ years of managing a team and a great talent developer with a ‘team first’ attitude to help build the next generation of leaders

  • A strong leadership presence with a track record of building relationships across marketing / sales stakeholders

  • Curiosity for data and the ability to make recommendations to our marketing data strategy to support our Analytics teams

  • Strong understanding of product-led Growth Marketing and building innovation into campaign strategies

  • Technical understanding of data sourcing/management, ETL development, Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs)

  • Support our marketing systems architecture and strategy to ensure actionable insights pass seamlessly between marketing, sales and other key systems

  • Solid experience building scalable and sustainable marketing operations processes and programs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience navigating complex organizations to generate buy-in for ideas

Desired:

  • Experience across tech stack including:  CDP solutions (Segment preferred), Enrichment tools (Clearbit, DataFox, D&B), Analytics (Tableau, Einstein, Looker, Google Analytics) and DBMS such as Snowflake, Amazon S3

  • Experience with Marketo implementations and migrations
