Our next Director, Marketing Operations will play a pivotal role within the marketing and commercial organization. This position leads and manages all processes and projects for TerrAscend house brand product development and launch campaigns across all markets. Responsible for spearheading inter-departmental communication and overseeing the flawless execution of all brand projects and campaigns within them. This position oversees product development, product manufacturing, procurement, compliance all the way through retail and e-commerce distribution.

 

You will be challenged to work both strategically and tactically to spearheading inter-departmental communication and overseeing the flawless execution of all brand projects and campaigns within them.

One minute you will be meeting with the cultivation and supply chain teams to talk through feasibility of new product development within our facilities.

The next minute running a project meeting to speak through updates on active product launches.

And the next minute connecting with creative and regional marketing teams to review an upcoming product launch.

Regardless of the task, it’s critical you have strong situational awareness and EQ as you’ll work with diverse teams and departments across the organization.

 

Where you'll be planted:

This is a remote position. Some (0-10%) business travel may be required.

To be blunt, this person will:

  • Oversee brand product marketing project management.  Lead and manage all planning and scheduling to include development/establishment of product roadmap schedules, - ensuring the appropriate people are consulted and informed on the status of branded product initiatives, managing up key communication points, and removing roadblocks that prevent product development and deployment from moving forward 

  • Lead the process, management and execution for all branded products across TerrAscend markets

  • Build and maintain relationships within cultivations, supply chain, procurement, creative, regional marketing, compliance and finance teams across all markets 

  • Develop, track and manage cross-functional project management tasks for timelines with regards to all brand product launches and SKU transitions

  • Prepare detailed implementation project plans and manage week-to-week execution of associated tasks, including planning, tracking, documentation, risk analysis and weekly status updates to senior leadership

  • Develop and lead project checklist meetings, while driving accountability across key team members

  • Resolve and promptly escalate issues, risks and dependencies – proactively identifying potential gaps and critical path analysis, and collaborate cross-functionally to execute on product development and launch plans

  • Continually refine and support effective project management workflow standards including procedures and templates that promote efficiency, productivity, and quality

  • Recommend and implement new workflow tools, fostering an environment of transparency, accountability and clear communication 

  • Communicate often and effectively with Retail and Wholesale Sales Teams to continually educate manufacturing crew regarding product knowledge and brand initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Vice President, Marketing.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or management.

  • 5+ years of experience working with consumer product brands and a deep understanding of the go-to-market process.

  • Experience in cannabis cultivation and retail is a pro.

  • Demonstrated success and ability to thrive in a complex, high growth environment with constantly changing priorities and enthusiasm.

  • Able to tackle and solve challenging operational problems that require resourcefulness, creative thinking, and collaboration, often with incomplete information.

  • Outstanding analytical skills and judgment. Can gather information, weigh relevant factors, and make decisions based on data, trends, and experience.

  • Solid Project Management skills and a proven ability to lead projects to an on time and in budget result.

  • Strong problem solver that demonstrates creativity in looking for ways to improve and promote quality, processes, and performance.
