Position Summary:
The Director of Sales is responsible for leading the sales team and driving revenue growth through strategic planning, sales process optimization, and team development. This role oversees sales performance, customer relationships, and partnerships, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to align sales strategies with business objectives. The Director of Sales will develop and execute sales strategies, manage sales operations, and provide leadership to achieve revenue targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Leadership
Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
Lead and manage a high-performing sales team, providing coaching, guidance, and support.
Establish sales processes, metrics, and performance standards.
Team Leadership and Performance Management
Recruit, train, and develop sales talent to ensure team success.
Conduct regular performance reviews, assessments, and goal setting.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation within the sales.
Revenue Growth and Performance
Drive revenue growth through new business acquisitions and existing customer expansions.
Analyze sales performance metrics and adjust strategies accordingly.
Ensure accurate sales forecasting and pipeline management.
Customer Relationships and Partnerships
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
Collaborate with marketing to develop customer-centric campaigns and content.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with product, marketing, and customer success teams to align sales strategies.
Provide input on product roadmap and customer needs.
Sales Operations and Enablement
Develop and manage sales enablement programs, training, and content.
Ensure efficient sales processes, tools, and technology.
Skills and Experience Needed:
Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Marketing
10+ years of SaaS sales leadership experience, with a proven track record in B2B sales, forecasting and managing quotas.
5+ years of proven sales experience within the public sector, with a strong track record of driving sales for managing government accounts.
Experience navigating a complex sales process with multiple partners with proven ability to influence C-level executives and help direct reports drive new client business.
Strong understanding of SaaS sales models, pricing strategies, and customer acquisition
Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills
Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics tools
