What You Will Do:
Technology Solutions Director for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) account. Provides the technical substance behind Guidehouse’s Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) technology positioning, directing technology solutions across the CMS account, coaching delivery resources on modern technology delivery practices, and helping Guidehouse build credibility to compete for technology and technology-adjacent work at CMS. Delivers on select client engagements as needed. This role collaborates with advisory and technology account leaders, technology capability leaders, and delivery teams to meet client needs and achieve growth goals.
Identify and design technology solutions across the CMS account portfolio and pipeline. These include modern digital services such as AI-enabled, cloud-native, API-driven, and platform-based solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements (security, performance, scalability, accessibility).
Identify and gather internal capability resources and guide solution development.
With a product mindset, apply human-centered design, accessibility, and service design principles to ensure solutions are intuitive, accessible, and outcomes-focused.
Identify and help the account team pursue CMS technology opportunities where Guidehouse’s mission intelligence creates a differentiated entry point.
Coach and develop delivery resources on modern technology engagement practices, helping the firm shift from traditional advisory into technology-enabled consulting across the CMS portfolio.
Bring practical AI tool-building experience to Guidehouse’s broader technology strategy, supporting the firm’s AI investment with applied (not theoretical) capability.
Develop reusable delivery playbooks, frameworks, and training materials incorporating modern agile/product practices adapted for the CMS operational and IT environments, with applicability across federal health as appropriate.
Deliver product roadmaps, technical roadmaps, reference architectures, service blueprints, and conceptual designs as required
What You Will Need:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
Must be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD 'PUBLIC TRUST'.
Based on our contractual obligations, candidate must be located within the United States and US Citizen.
10+ years spanning software delivery, product leadership, or technology strategy.
Direct experience within a CMS technology organization with knowledge of enterprise or mission application ecosystems.
Modern agile/product delivery leadership; not solely traditional waterfall PM.
Technical depth to guide solution development, including AI, cloud architecture, API development and integration, DevOps, etc.
Direct experience with large-scale solutions and implementations.
Ability to travel 10% or as needed for client meetings and/or team meetings.
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Leadership within a CMS technology organization.
Government-side experience with CMS vendor evaluation, RFP development, or technology selection.
Knowledge of the Medicare claims processing application ecosystem including shared systems and modernization initiatives.
Hands-on AI tool development (RAG systems, AI-assisted workflows).
Track record creating reusable delivery frameworks or methodologies that scale beyond individual engagements.
Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.
The annual salary range for this position is $226,000.00-$376,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
