Position Description
The Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine is looking for an experienced, self-directed, and highly skilled Digital Marketing Director.
This full-time, remote position will follow a standard workweek schedule (Monday through Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm, based on your time zone).
Travel to Asheville, NC will be required up to four times a year.
This position will also participate in daily mandatory phone check-ins (timing flexible dependent on your time zone).
You'll coordinate with our existing social media team to support current marketing efforts and create new strategies.
Projects involve working with our in-house copywriters, photographer, and graphic artist.

To ensure that all aspects of this position are performed as expected, measurable metrics will be provided along with regularly scheduled performance reviews.
Responsibilities:
List Building
· Identify optimal opt-in offers and work with team to produce deliverables including PDFs, videos, and free courses
· Maximize conversions on website for lead generation through graphics and pop-ups
· Create contests and giveaways that build our list
· Compose engaging emails (with team) to accompany and enhance deliverable content
Social Media Marketing
· Stay abreast of ongoing changes and trends in social media and best practices, communicate changes to team members working on social media
· Create graphics for social media posts (Instagram stories, Pinterest, Facebook)
· Create and coordinate contests on social media with goal of building our list and increasing our following
· Identify influencers and coordinate paid posts on social media and/or affiliate relationships with influencers
· Implement social media strategies to increase traffic to website
· Coordinate with our social media team on post strategies that increase conversions
· Monitor conversions from website traffic driven from social media
· Drive traffic to the website by creating videos, memes, and posts promoting opt-in offers and blog posts
Public Relations
· Write and produce press releases (with team members that specialize in writing copy, photography, and graphic arts) and send to the appropriate media
· Coordinate interviews with press members and send appropriate copy and photography materials
· Identify appropriate influencers within our field and coordinate paid advertisements on blogs and social media
· Reach out to podcast hosts to secure interviews with the school's Director
· Coordinate PR strategies for forthcoming book release
SEO/SEM
· Stay abreast of ongoing changes in SEO and SEM and best practices
· Implement SEO tactics and delegate SEO-related tasks to team
· Measure SEM outcomes and optimize strategies based on conversion rates of marketing strategies
· Coordinate SEO posts for our website with team, who will generate articles and photography according to SEO goals
· Coordinate SEO-inspired opt-in offers with our team, who will generate videos, PDFs, and other opt-in materials according to SEO goals and serving our community
· Work directly with SEO consultants to implement their suggested changes
· Communicate with our web developers to implement necessary changes that can't be completed in-house
Online Marketing/Remarketing
· Identify blogs and websites for paid advertising and sponsored posts
· Create and implement a remarketing campaign that increases website traffic
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree
· 5 years minimum experience in digital marketing
· Willing and able to travel to Asheville, NC up to four times a year
· Excellent and clear communication skills - both verbal and written
· Able and willing to learn new skills
· Willing to travel occasionally throughout the US for book promotion at conferences and events (this would not begin until 2019 at the earliest)
· Knows how to research, problem solve, or seek assistance to get the job done
· Comfortable working with a team and delegating tasks
· Familiar with marketing in social media platforms: Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest
· Knowledge of Asana, Google Docs, and Dropbox preferred
· Experience with Wordpress, Yoast SEO, and other relevant website plugins
· Intimate with Google Analytics and other tracking programs to monitor traffic and conversion rates
· Experience with Google AdWords and keyword research tools
· Comfortable with contemporary SEO best practices and willing to engage in ongoing education on emerging trends and changes
· Strong sense of responsibility and able to prioritize and complete multiple projects with minimal supervision
· Experience with light graphic art design through Canva, Adobe software, Adobe Spark, Word Swag
· Experience with writing copy, photo editing, photography, styling; experience editing copy is preferred
· Able to match content (visuals, vibe, written content) to our existing branding
· Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized
· Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask and prioritize work
· Able to successfully pass a background check
· Currently residing in United States
