About The Role:
CALSTART is seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Director of Trucks & Off-Road programs to lead our medium and heavy-duty programs across America. This role will help amplify the impact of our programmatic work both on and off-road.
The Deputy Director of Trucks & Off-Road will report to the VP of Trucks, Off-Road & Marketing and will lead efforts to position CALSTART as a leading authority in the clean transportation sector.
The incumbent in this role will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to raise awareness, shape public perception, and drive engagement around CALSTART’s medium and heavy-duty program endeavors. The ideal candidate will have a track record of creating high impact scalable programs at the state, regional and local levels.
What You'll Do:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with key industry officials, State representatives, fleets, and OEMs to establish CALSTART as a leader in clean transportation solutions
Grow CALSTART’s program team to better leverage CALSTART’s presence in medium and heavy duty zero emission programs nationally
Develop and implement strategic programs that are aligned with CALSTART’s organizational goals and objectives
Collaborate closely with internal teams to pursue new opportunities nationally to expand CALSTARTs footprint
Support CALSTARTs policy team as the subject matter expert in the medium and heavy duty zero emissions industry
Manage and oversee medium and heavy-duty program budgets
What You'll Bring To The Table:
7+ years of program experience
Skilled in building complex, scalable programs in the transportation industry
Medium and Heavy-Duty Transportation experience
Off-road equipment knowledge
Passion for decarbonizing the transportation industry
Knowledge of governmental (including inter-agency) processes, procedures and actions that can affect the energy and transportation industry
Experience working on multiple campaigns and programs simultaneously, often in multi-stakeholder settings
Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear and compelling messages for diverse audiences
Experience managing relationships and advising on strategy, project planning, and stakeholder engagement
Bachelor’s degree
Desired Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
Project Management Certification
Industry expertise in the off-road segment including Aviation, ground support equipment, yard hostlers, marine and agriculture
$105,630 - $144,312 a year
CALSTART values transparency and strives to provide as much information regarding compensation as possible. The complete salary range for this role is $105,630 - $144,312. Pay for this role will typically be from $105,630 - $112,945 as we determine pay based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, education, internal equity and other factors relevant to the job.
