Who we are & why we’re hiring

Twilio powers real-time business communications and data solutions that help companies and developers worldwide build better applications and customer experiences.

Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we have presence throughout South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. We're on a journey to becoming a global company that actively opposes racism and all forms of oppression and bias. At Twilio, we support diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business.

About the job

As a Demo Platform Engineer, you will have a direct impact in consolidating the demo platform across both Comms and Segment for the first time in Twilio’s history. You will be responsible for creation, maintenance, and designing of the entire full stack demo environment, including frontend as well as any required backend code base across presales/templatized demos (e.g., Coast) and configurable demo environments for new common use cases across Comms and Segment and the best in class stack reference architecture for each of the use cases. You will partner closely with Enterprise Architects and report into Senior Manager, Demo Platform Engineering to drive innovation in the way we productize and elevate our demo experience across the business, with the goal of driving cross-sell, multiproduct adoption across the business by helping customers and the broader GTM org more easily and effectively visualize the vision for One Twilio.

Responsibilities

  • Build comprehensive use case demos for Solutions Engineers to leverage in customer facing calls which may include Comms APIs, customer websites and applications, Segment, Flex, and other new pre-GA capabilities

  • Utilize your software engineering expertise to ensure the technical accuracy and reliability of demo environments and demo tooling, including integrations with other partner technology.

  • Develop visually appealing, interactive demo environments using a range of tools, empowering AEs and SEs to provide self-service demos that highlight delightful user experiences.

  • Stay abreast of product updates and enhancements, and incorporate them into the demo environments as appropriate to showcase the latest features and improvements.

  • Gather feedback from end users and use insights to continuously enhance and refine demo content and delivery.

Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience in software development, with a strong understanding of RESTful APIs, web frameworks and integrating SaaS platforms.

  • Experience learning, understanding and communicating complex technical concepts to internal stakeholders.

  • Strong knowledge of Javascript including experience using Node and React with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies as needed.

  • Experience developing and deploying full stack, web-based applications with a focus on creating intuitive user interfaces and seamless user experiences.

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering projects with tight deadlines and incomplete information.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multiple cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail.

Desired:

  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts and platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, GCP, AWS is a plus.

  • Familiarity with the CPaaS API space and prior CPaaS coding experience a huge plus
