Deal Desk - Senior Analyst
Summary of Role/Position:
Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Deal Desk professional to support our AMER Deal Desk operations. The Senior Analyst will partner with the Sales field to structure and process SaaS offers, ensuring deals are compliant, accurately quoted, and positioned for success. This role requires independent judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate ambiguity - you'll be expected to assess situations, identify risks, and provide recommendations rather than simply follow scripts. The Senior Analyst will work closely with their Deal Desk and Commercial Operations colleagues, Sales, Finance, and Legal to deliver efficient deal execution while actively contributing to process improvements.
Daily Tasks (Roles & Responsibilities)
Provide guidance to Sales on deal structuring, pricing configurations, and contract requirements for standard to moderately complex opportunities • Review and process deals in Salesforce and CPQ, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Anaplan policies • Draft, review, and redline contracts including new business, add-ons, and renewals for Cloud Subscription Services • Identify and escalate commercial, legal, or technical risks; propose solutions and recommendations to Deal Managers or leadership • Collaborate with Finance and Legal teams to verify contract terms, pricing accuracy, and revenue recognition compliance • Communicate proactively with Sales and cross-functional partners via Zoom, Slack, and email - explaining policies, providing rationale, and building trusted relationships • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Anaplan's products, pricing models, and go-to-market strategies • Support deal reviews and forecasting activities by providing deal status updates and analysis • Contribute to process documentation and improvement initiatives; identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions • Handle multiple deals simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
Profile / Background of Ideal Candidate:
Independent thinker - able to assess situations, apply judgment, and make recommendations without needing step-by-step instructions • Strong communicator - comfortable presenting ideas in Zoom calls, articulating rationale in Slack/email, and building relationships across teams • Solid understanding of Deal Desk fundamentals: pricing, deal structures, contracting, and order management • Commercial awareness - familiarity with SaaS business models, revenue recognition concepts, and standard legal terms • Collaborative mindset - able to work effectively with Sales, Finance, Legal, and Product teams; customer-first mentality • Problem-solver - proactively identifies issues, asks clarifying questions, and proposes solutions rather than waiting for direction • Intellectually curious - able to learn Anaplan's products and articulate value propositions to customers • Organized and dependable - manages competing priorities, meets deadlines, and maintains accuracy under pressure • 3-5 years professional experience in Deal Desk, Sales Operations, or Commercial Operations within SaaS (experience beyond BPO roles strongly preferred) • Proficiency with Salesforce and CPQ systems required; Conga experience a plus • Strong skills in Excel, contract review, and business writing
