EDB is a market leading data and AI company committed to maintaining the highest standards of data privacy and security. We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as the Data Governance and Privacy Specialist, overseeing and implementing comprehensive data protection strategies.
What your impact will be:
Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines in compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data privacy considerations into business processes and product development.
Conduct regular privacy assessments and audits to identify and address potential risks.
Act as the primary point of contact for data protection queries from internal and external stakeholders.
Stay informed about evolving data protection laws and industry best practices, providing guidance to ensure continuous compliance.
Design and deliver privacy training programs for employees to enhance awareness and comprehension of data protection principles.
Manage and respond to data subject access requests, ensuring timely and precise responses.
Work closely with IT and security teams to implement and maintain robust data security measures.
Represent the company in interactions with regulatory authorities and support any investigations or audits.
What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or certifications in data privacy and protection (e.g., CIPP, CISSP) is a plus.
10 years proven experience in a data privacy role, with a robust comprehension of global data protection laws and regulations.
Exemplary communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Well-developed project management skills, with a track record of successfully implementing data privacy initiatives.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
