Cytogenetic Analyst
Labcorp is seeking a remote Cytogenetics Analyst to join our team that’s based in Brentwood, TN.
Work Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Responsibilities:
Perform FISH analysis, which includes analysis and imaging of digitized images
Cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images
Review of cytogenetic cases via computerized images and documents
Review test requisitions to gather pertinent details for analysis
Summarize test results utilizing ISCN nomenclature
Distinguish between normal and abnormal test results
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot equipment, software and applications to ensure proper functionality.
Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care.
Reports any and all problems to the general supervisor in a timely manner
Collaborates with general supervisor on protocol/policy development and review
Provides feedback to senior technologists on technical matters
Understands and complies with company policies and procedures
Maintain a safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
ASCP certification in Cytogenetics (ASCP CG)
1 year experience in FISH and Chromosomes for Oncology Cytogenetics
Preferred Qualifications
2 years or more experience with cytogenetic analysis of metaphase spreads via computerized images
Additional Job Standards
In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
This role focuses on onscreen FISH analysis with occasional chromosome work, using digital platforms such as Metasystem (Neon) and Applied Spectral Imaging (ASI).
No wet lab or bench work—this position is fully analysis‑based.

Salary Range: $25-$45/hr

Work Location: Remote based in US
Work From Home Requirements:
The candidate must have a home office space that is a dedicated room, not shared with other people, and meets HIPAA compliance.
Wired internet at a minimum speed of 100 mb/sec is required.
The candidate must have the ability to work remotely effectively as required in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with a demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands.
