Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies - from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups - use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The CSO team assists in Stripe’s plans for growth by managing its entity portfolio, including overseeing its Boards. Our scope of work covers matters from legal entity formation/dissolution/restructuring, statutory audits, coordinating board matters, including meetings, minutes and resolutions, and a lot more.

What you’ll do

We are looking for a talented corporate paralegal with project management expertise and experience to help us build, improve and execute Stripe’s market and entity expansion program (“LEAF”); oversee Stripe’s Know Your Customer (“KYC”) matters workstream; and assist with corporate governance matters for our US entities. We are a small, cohesive, and nimble global team supporting a rapidly growing organization in a fast-paced and high-volume environment. We are looking for a team member that is organized, detail and goal oriented and curious.

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with our global team and cross functional partners to ensure that all LEAF and KYC workstreams are completed in an organized, efficient and timely manner.

  • Design and execute project timelines required to meet deadlines and clearly allocate workstream responsibilities across multiple geographic locations

  • Provide project task and issue management to drive clear project priorities and coordination with internal teams and ensure accountability

  • Monitor, follow-up on and communicate project progress, potential risks/delays and performance to impacted teams and leadership

  • Timely respond to KYC requests for confidential information and documents from our internal and external auditors, regulators, partners, and other stakeholders

  • Identify areas to improve our existing processes and controls with technology, especially regarding communicating/providing and storage of confidential information, and generally improve leverage and self-sufficiency across teams

  • Help with various corporate governance matters for US entities, including, annual state reporting and filing obligations

  • Assist with special projects as needed, with the ability to work in an ever-changing environment

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • A Paralegal certificate and/or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

  • Licensed Notary Public (in any US state), or willingness to obtain a Notary Public License

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant corporate paralegal experience with an in-house privately owned or publicly traded company or a law firm

  • Domestic or global corporate governance experience, knowledge and a basic understanding of formation, integration, restructuring and dissolution of entities is required

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate good judgment, handle multiple projects at the same, prioritize and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-growth, dynamic environment

  • Superb attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills with the  highest level of accuracy

  • Demonstrate leadership skills to deal effectively with a variety of individuals at all organizational levels

  • Proficiency with Goggle Suite, including G-Mail, Goggle docs, etc.; Apple Mac computers; Blueprint/Diligent Software; JIRAs; and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

  • A positive attitude, collaborative mindset, and a desire to be part of a strong, supportive team

Preferred qualifications

  •  Familiarity with the general process of Know Your Customer (“KYC”) matters
