Reserv is an insurtech creating and incubating cutting-edge AI and automation technology to bring efficiency and simplicity to claims. About the role
As the Controller, you will work closely with the VP of Finance and be a key player in connecting various teams within Reserv with high-impact reporting, analyses and hands-on financial support. This role presents an opportunity for you to not only lead the traditional accounting and financial operations but also craft and implement entrepreneurial solutions to simplify business processes for financial tasks.

You have a strong command of US GAAP principles, and enjoy researching accounting and tax issues and creating simplified solutions in a commercially practical way
You enjoy taking a high degree of ownership over tasks from inception to completion including ways to automate and scale solutions
You are collaborative and communicate with your team often and early
What we need
We need you to do all the things typical to the role:
Lead the preparation, review and accuracy of financial, managerial and investor reporting
Manage regulatory and tax filings as well as annual audit process; Oversee key vendor relationships including auditors, outsourced accountants, technical accounting advisory, and strategic partners
Implement and enforce robust financial control across expense management, treasury activities and vendor management
Work with the VP of Finance on financial analyses, budgeting and long-term forecast to support business decision making
Work alongside the Claims teams to support customer billing and treasury activities
Requirements
8+ years of experience in financial management at a leading technology company or top-tier public accounting firm. Previous experience as a financial controller strongly preferred
CPA or equivalent advanced accounting degree
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting / ERP systems (Quickbooks, NetSuite, etc.)
Experience in startup or insurance preferred (but not required)
Commercial savviness is a plus
