Content Lead

This is a contract position. This role can be worked remotely from anywhere in the APAC time zone.

Reddit is expanding globally, and we are looking for a growth-minded editorial leader to play a critical role in the hands-on operational curation of our surfaces to best engage Redditors in the Philippines. This is a unique role that sits within a cross-functional team that includes community relations, content creation, and regional market leadership, that has a direct influence on product management. 

As a Content Lead at Reddit, you will be a key player in a growing, internationally-focused team and play a pivotal role in deepening Reddit’s global presence. You will act as the preeminent cultural tastemaker in your market, and be responsible for making sense of trends, moments, and first-party data to inform and drive content and community programming decisions. You will manage local editorial calendars, own operational processes to determine which communities and content to surface in editorial surfaces,, and confidently articulate how users in the Philippines interact with content and communities on Reddit. 

The ideal candidate is a cultural expert with strong operational, analytical, and writing skills. They are someone who can get curious about any community on Reddit as it relates to users in the Philippines, are comfortable digging into metrics to better connect users with quality and relevant content, and are excited to contribute significantly to Reddit's mission of bringing community, belonging, and empowerment to everyone in the world. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and execute on-platform content strategy for users in the Philippines based on guidance provided by Curation Operations leadership in partnership with various XFN teams

• Act as a preeminent local tastemaker: keep your finger on the pulse of key events and trends across the Philippines (both IRL and online), and find and highlight relevant content on Reddit

• Own the operational processes for updating, managing, and validating all local programmable and editorial surfaces

• Leverage Reddit search and knowledge of the platform to identify the best, most unique, or freshest local content and communities to surface to users in the Philippines

• Measure, analyze and improve content quality and performance on a range of metrics to ensure we’re building best-in-class content experiences that perform well and delight our users

• Proactively identify opportunities to create better user experiences on-platform as it relates to programmable content surfaces

What We Expect From You:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

• Entrepreneurial spirit, ability to take initiative and drive projects independently 

• Proven track record of cross-functional content experience

• Bilingual (fluent in English + Filipino/Tagalog)

• 4+ years of experience in operations, marketing, journalism, analytics, or communications

• Strong understanding of Filipino culture, and an enthusiasm for Reddit’s expansive network of unique communities there

• Tastemaker who is a stickler for top-tier editorial standards and quality prose

• Data-driven and analytical mindset, proficiency in Google Sheets

• Knowledge of SQL preferred

• Prior experience with leveraging user data to inform strategic content decisions

• Prior experience operating internal editorial tooling or experimental processes from start to finish with a keen eye for tweaking processes as needed for efficiency

• Has an understanding of how quality content experiences can shape user experiences, and an ability to identify opportunities for product improvements

• Intellectually curious, with an affinity for staying “in the know” or “up to date” on culture, news, or societal trends

• Exceptional communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, users, moderators, partners, content creators

• Comfort multitasking in fast-paced environments while adjusting to new and evolving processes

• Results-oriented mindset with a keen eye for execution and attention to detail
